New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Other new shows from Wednesday and Thursday that I watched.

Single Parents- I will be watching this each week. The cast is good and I didn't realize it was a Liz Meriweather show until the end credits. It doesn't feel like New Girl at all but you can tell the group has alot of experience making tv. It didn't feel like a pilot where they need to get their legs under them to find the show.

A Million Little Things- I only lasted 10 minutes because it was just too much drama/emotional for me. I wanted to like it because I really like the actors/actresses in the show. If this was a movie, I would have watched it but I didn't want to get sucked into something like this week to week.

Murphy Brown- I liked it and it felt like the old show. I watched it as a kid with my parents but I don't remember much of it. I think that will play in its favor for me because reboots tend to feel like recycling especially for shows with as many episodes as Murphy Brown had.

Rel- this wasn't on this week but it was on after some week 1 NFL game. Definately one of those shows that needs time to find itself. It seem like a standup bit that they adapted for tv for the first script. To me it felt like when John Mulaney had his tv show but with better acting. It could grow to something real good but will have to make a decent jump in each episode to stay on the air.

The Cool Kids- this was suprisingly good especially for a show Fox decided to put on friday nights. Seems like a simple comedy that you can jump in and out of without much background.

Finished Jack Ryan. I liked that a lot. It felt a lot like 24 in that the bad guys were always like ten steps ahead of everyone else and executed everything perfectly always, but overall it was fun and tense and it made me want to keep watching. The production values were also fantastic and that helped make the show stand out.

If you liked it, you should check out the show Bodyguard on BBC. It has a similar feel and I think it's an overall better show too.

Also, Always Sunny from this week was awesome. Back to back great episodes.

I didn't like the airforce drone pilot subplot. It never felt like it went anywhere. I also hated how they gave the little girl electronics with connection to the internet.... That was just absurd. I wanted to like this show because I enjoyed the first three Jack Ryan films, but there were too many instances that I felt were way out of the realm of believability.

Dude surviving drone strike on his dome... wtf

And holly hell that fake fucking videogame they were playing. This show clearly had a strong budget and that is the videogame they come up with? I personally wouldn't recommend it. I think there are much better options out there. Like homeland for instance.

Homeland is awesome from season 4, but the first 3 seasons ? The great acting can’t make up for the slow plot.

To me Jack Ryan is like Z nation while the Homeland is like Thd Walking Dead.

On a different note , how did Grimm make it to 6 seasons?

Always Sunny in Philadelphia has lost its charm. New season is bad. Dennis got very old quick and Mack isn’t funny when he is so juiced up with steroids.

I'm late on Ozarks. It's fucking good.

I thought the first season felt like it was trying too hard to be another Breaking Bad, but the show seemed to find its footing in season two and started to do its own thing.

I definitely noticed the parallel but it's different enough for me. Good to know it gets better

I think they figured out Marty's character a little more in season two. He feels much less like Jason Bateman playing Walter White.

I like Ozarks but the only differences between it and breaking bad are stylistic

Everyone should be watching Wrecked. Show is fucking hilarious. It's dumb comedy, but every episode has me laughing out loud constantly.

I’m late to the Ozark party too; I intially thought it might be redundant with Breaking Bad, but a little over half past the first season — there are some absolutely elite scenes in this show.

Had no idea Bateman was such a talented director. I’m binging and hooked.

Edit: didn’t even notice the posts above lol

Yeah, I ended up starting to watch Arrested Devleopment after I saw him in this.

Last night's episode of Always Sunny was strange. The first five minutes made me think it was going to be one of the worst episodes of the series, but the second half just absolutely killed it and had a couple of absolutely incredible scenes that were among the best in the entire series. Dee's massage rant is phenomenal, and Charlie and Mac finally confronting the kids who stole their bike is gonna go down as an all-time classic Sunny scene.

Scene with the kids won't be topped
