He's laying off anything above the belt. He's being a lot more patient at the dish as well.

BTW WTF did Marwin Gonzalez get into that he is suddenly a good baseball player? Someone please post an advanced stat that reduces all of his production down to the objective definition of 'lucky'.

HR/FB% is 36%, league leader last year was 28.8%, so there is some regression coming there. He is hitting more fly balls this year though. If he continues that, we should see more HR's even when he inevitably regresses in HR/FB%.

His line drive % is actually significantly lower than it has been the last two years, so it'll be interesting to see how he performs moving forward.
