The Jimmy Haslam Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The NFL is fucking garbage with all of these moves.

I hope the Raiders flop massively. Oakland had great fans.

Also wish more owners had the cajones to stand up to this bullshit, but they'd never because one day when they can get more money from moving they don't want to burn bridges. Disgusting.

Good for the Dolphins owner
I'm sure Miami had a reason to not want them to move and I'm sure that wasn't because they had Oakland fans in mind.

What cities are paying for these stadiums is just absurd. It terrifies me what this city is going to have to do in 10-12 years when our stadium becomes one of the obsolete ones. Part of me feels bad for Raiders fans but the other part is thrilled for the city that they haven't been saddled with the massive debt of a stadium used 10-12 times a year.

Go on...

It's a garbage model where the NFL holds cities hostage to pay for something that makes no sense for the owner to not pay. But they know they can do it because there's always a line of desperate cities climbing over themselves to offer to buy it for the owner.

I'm sure the Dolphins reasoning was financial. One theory I read was they didn't want another Super Bowl site competition. The same reason they could have voted against the Rams move.

I for one am really disappointed that the Browns voted to approve the move.

Owners get like $50M in relocation fees, so Haslam cares not for your disappointment.

Truth is, voting against at this point in the process is a PR move. It's disappointing to see a City lose their team, but the Dolphins are still getting that relocation fee and know damn well that the vote against isn't changing anything aside from a slight PR win.

Fantastic Sam's courting Mark Davis as the stadium sponsor.

Even if you know your side won't win you should still vote for what you think is right

But That assumes any of those asshole owners know what a sports franchise means to a city

With the Raiders move, Jimmy can easily pay off Os-man and the truckers... sweet.

Why are owners incentivized by these moves?
