The Magic Number Thread: 2017 Edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yea, anything is possible, but why "should" Milwaukee beat Boston? I'm positive Vegas won't think so.

I'm being hopeful lol.

You play to win the game :chuckle:.

Not everything is set in stone yet. Indiana and Chicago just right behind them.

As far as the Bucks are concerned, it pretty much is. If Atlanta wins tomorrow, they’re the #6 seed. If they don’t, they could be the #5 seed or #6 seed but still probably the 6 seed. Indiana and Chicago don’t matter to them.

I've read somewhere there can be a five-way tie or something (I don't know how that's possible).

Milwaukee is likely to be locked into their spot after tomorrow (unless Atlanta loses). I fully expect them to punt on Wednesday.

I also don't expect the Cavs to play everyone on Wednesday. Standings will likely end up:

1. Boston
2. Cleveland
3. Toronto
4. Washington
5. Atlanta
6. Milwaukee
7. Indiana
8. Chicago

Pretty sure the Bulls have the tiebreaker on Indiana. I think the Cavs will be playing Chicago in Round 1.

It was possible several days ago but not now.

That was true as of 2 days ago. After tonight at most there can be a 3-way tie, of which MIL won’t be a part of.

They do but Indiana has an actual 1 game lead over them with one game to play.

If you don’t factor resting players or opponent, the Bulls have the same odds of getting the 7 seed as we do of getting the 1 seed.

Oops, swung and missed on that one.

The Cavs will be playing the Indiana Pacers in round 1.

I fully expect us to beat TOR even without Lebron, WSH will rest Wall and fall to MIA in a close low scoring game, but it won't matter as CHI is not losing to BKN again and CHI holds tie breaker over Miami if they both end up 41&41 & are tied in conf w/l totals,MIL to stun BOS in a blowout giving us back the 1 seed, ATL to rest starters and lose to CHA and then lose to IND pushing out MIA and avoiding WSH in the first round.
We will face CHI in the first round as the 1 or IND if we fail to beat TOR.

I haven't been sure whether to post this for about a half hour. :chuckle:
