The Trump Administration (just Trump) Thread

Funny thing is...describing the right wing as "outraged over commercial news media errors" seems a pretty wild mischaracterization to me.

How about "bemused by the uncovering of liberal media smear jobs" or "validated by the gradual unraveling of the Trump Russia collusion witch hunt."

I'm not sensing outrage from the right. More "I told ya so."

And in the center...a lot of people that are getting tired of hearing anti-Trump news, seeing anti-Trump stuff on social media and thus gradual Trump "support" from those who didn't support him before.

And yeah...they'll basically just keep him under investigation as long as they can.
Although I didn't quote the post, my comment was in reference to the article posted above my post, published in the News Corp-owned New York Post; a conservative (read: 'right wing') media outlet, expressing outage (IMO) over the MSM 'doing anything to bash Trump'.

As you know, if it were not for media reports, Michael Flynn would still be National Security Advisor, AG Jeff Sessions would not be recused in Russia related investations, a Special Prosecutor appointed on the heels of a demonstrably false narrative being put forth by the administration for the unprecedented firing of the FBI director, or the President of the United States likely under investigation for obstruction of Justice. There's more, but isn't that enough for now?

Sorry you're tired of hearing about it, but that's not going to change the reality of above developments. If some of the folks under investigation start rolling over if looking at jail time, you might find yourself watching (or not watching as the case may be) boring impeachment hearings on C-SPAN or PBS.

We will see.

How many people were tired of the Bengazi investigation? That investigation went on for 4 years. Was that a witch hunt? Bengazi is a drop in a bucket compared to colluding with Russia. It's too early to tell if Trump did or didn't, but don't you think it is in the nations best interest to thoroughly review it?

One actually happened, the other didn't.

No its not too early.

Enjoy being strung along tho

Manafort just retroactively disclosed 17 million from pro-kremlin Ukranian government. It's fine if you think there is no collusion, but there are so many ties and lies about Russia, it seems like a logical thread to follow.

More than 5 members of the administration have lied about meetings with Russia. Why did they do that?

The dead Russians and the admission to the Russian ambassodr that he fired Comey over Russia. It all looks bad. I know people want the murder weapon, an eye witness, and a body, but the circumstantial evidence is at least compelling enough to warrant further investigation.

The claims that this has been made out of whole cloth are silly.

We can tap toasters.

You have no evidence to date.

Do you see why this is a problem?

Meanwhile, Dads on camera telling everyone santa isn't real. Three moms "went to stay at her parents" for "the weekend" because of it.

No evidence of what exactly? There is lots of evidence, there isn't a smoking gun. Those are 2 different points.

Why did Jared want to use secret spy apparatus of the Russian gov? What would you say if Joe Biden had wanted to use secret Russian spy apparatus??? No reason to look into it further?

Russia interfered in the election, everyone agrees on that. Multiple social and business ties between the Russians and administration. 5 different members of the administration lie about meetings with Russians. 2 different guys admit to being foreign agents retroactively, including the former National Security advisor.

At best there is some very questionable conflicts of interest here. At worst it could be very bad.

Saying there is nothing there, is not accurate. So, fine go on your MSM outcry, but don't say nothing is there. It isn't true,

We know that Russia was involved in trying to sway the election towards Trump. Even if Trump didn't collude, the events that have happened since are still troublesome. If at the very least, Russia could be telling the WH, "Hey, we just helped you win, aren't you going to lift our sanctions and leave Syria alone?" Are you telling me you don't have a problem with that?

Cool. And so when are you going to hold the president to the same standard?

That's great, the President sucks and is a dirty, rotten liar.

However, the Press is supposed to be the bearer of truth that we can depend on. So when they're a bunch of dirty rotten liar's too, it doesn't help me that they're both now equal. Because I, as a citizen, now have no idea what the shit is going on. Surely you see why even if the White House is scum, our MSM cannot be running WWE storylines like the shit is real, right?

The president is a person. The media is a broad term for hundreds of organizations and businesses (many conglomerated together), not to mention all the smaller and individual ventures that exist due to the internet now (for better or worse).

There has always been yellow journalism. As we've discussed in these threads endlessly, that doesn't mean there isn't good reporting going on. Even WITHIN news orgs, you may have several reputable sources alongside frankly shit reporters. The issue is systemic in the media. The need for profits and clicks drives networks like CNN to go for the fastest, most sensational headline possible, which makes for sloppy work. That's not to say that journalism is completely deprived of talent or integrity. The war Trump has waged with the media has brought him to this place where he's being treated "unfairly."

But yes we all agree there are major issues top to bottom with the media in this country. And we both agree that the president and the press should be held to a high standard. At the very least, with legitimate news organizations, they run retractions and there are consequences to inaccurate reporting. With our president, he just gets retweets.

I would never watch C-SPAN or PBS.

One had blatant proof that it happened, the other did.

4 died, Hillary lied.
