The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, Kotaku dropped a pretty scathing article on the culture of sexism are Riot Games, the developers of League of Legends. It's a good read if you've got ten minutes or so.

Never understood the toxicity regarding women in gaming. I couldn't give a shit who my teammates are in a game as long as they know what the fuck they're doing. I tend to run across two types of guys in gaming when it comes to female gamers, though. They're either incredibly toxic and use awful language or they are those fucking white knights who think the girls need defended from everything. I hate both those groups. Just treat them like regular fucking people. I'll talk shit to a girl the same as I talk shit to a guy, and I'll talk to them in-game if they're on my team like they're anyone else.

I used to regularly play TF2 with a couple of different girls. They were good at the game, and that's really all I care about. Only reason I'm not still playing with them is because I'm on a TF2 hiatus right now.

I hear a lot of pretty awful things while playing Sea of Thieves (usually not directed at me, just racist crewmates). I usually play along for a bit (not actually saying anything bad myself, but just don't say anything against them) and wait for a good opportunity to sink our ship when it's loaded with loot. I don't need the money in the game, so ruining an hour-long run for a couple of assholes is totally worth it to me. :chuckle:

Also, IGN just had to fire one of their reviewers for plaigerizing parts of his Dead Cells review from a YouTuber.

Was thinking about it. That, and Hollow Knight (more of a Metroidvania) at some point when my library gets whittled down.

Hollow Knight got pretty amazing reviews across the board. It's on my short list if I ever stop playing Sea of Thieves and decide to play something else, although Banner Saga 3 will be my next get after I finish re-playing the previous two, which were both incredible.

I saw that Dead Cells review, lol. Hysterical. Plagiarized almost to the word at some spots.

Smash Ultimate is fucking stacked.

I've been playing a ton of CoD Zombies again. I can't really handle the multiplayer anymore since I'm no longer one of the twitchy kids in there and I can't keep up with the new breed of twitchy kids, but damn Zombies is still such a great time.

For $30 on Black Ops III, you can get Zombies Chronicles which remasters:

- Nacht der Untoten
- Verruckt
- Shi No Numa
- Kino Der Toten
- Ascension
- Shangri-La
- Moon
- Origins

Been playing the hell out of it.

Was re-reading the thread in some spots and saw that this was posted a few years ago - figure I'd throw in my updated top-15 games of all-time according to this list:
  1. Red Dead Redemption
  2. Grand Theft Auto V
  3. Fallout: New Vegas
  4. Pokemon Gold/Silver
  5. Skyrim
  6. The Last of Us
  7. Pokemon Red/Blue
  8. Fallout 3
  9. Call of Duty 4
  10. Smash Bros. Melee
  11. Minecraft
  12. Super Mario Galaxy
  13. Smash Bros. Wii-U
  14. Ocarina of Time
  15. Halo 3
Not exactly completely accurate, and if I actually sat around and took the hours it would take for me to make my perfect list of games I've played, Fallout 4 and Overwatch would definitely be on there. Still not awful though.

Nice. Im gonna do that. Seems like it takes awhile though. Ill post more on this later.

Mine ended up surprisingly accurate:

Witcher 3
Deus Ex
Warcraft 3
The Last of Us
Half Life
Ocarina of Time
World of Warcraft
Bloodborne
Assassins Creed 2
Super Mario 64

Pretty good. Perfect Dark is on the cusp. Mass Effect 2 as well, but I’m not sure which I’d bump to fit either of those in there. Honorable mentions go to KOTOR, Red Dead Redemption and GTAV.

But if I had to put a list together it’d certainly look similar to this. I tend to judge games independent of how they “hold up” today when doing lists like this. I’m sure if I tried to play Deus Ex today it’d look like it was running on a potato, but at the time? Before Witcher 3 it was my favorite game of all time.

Can't take "greatest game of all time" list serious if it doesn't have Final Fantasy on it.

Mine:

15. Metal Gear Solid V
14. Chrono Trigger
13. Zelda: Link to the Past
12. Deus Ex
11. Half-Life
10. Team Fortress 2
9. Star Wars: KOTOR
8. Metal Gear Solid
7. Super Mario 64
6. Witcher 3
5. Super Mario Bros. 3
4. Portal 2
3. Half-Life 2
2. Metal Gear Solid 3
1. Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Seems about right. Probably a few games that weren't included in the voting that I'd put in there, but I'd have to think on it.

Individually, though, I don't think any single game in the series is a top ten greatest game ever. It's certainly one of the great series of all time, but as far as individual games go the highest-ranked one I had on my list was IX at 25.

That's a good list, its definitely subjective.

I would personally have FF7 in my list.

Simply never got into it.

Truthfully, I don't like "Greatest of all Time" as it's subjective. Prefer "Favorite Games of all Time"
