Why are we acting like Bauer imploded in game 5?

He gave up 3 runs, basically on three hits. He's not Corey Kluber so a shutout shouldn't be expected. Bauer left the game with the score at 3-1-- he gave them a chance.

There's some second guessing to be done when you lose a 3-1 series lead but starting Bauer in game 5 isn't one of them. Not sure what Bauer starting in game 5 has to do with Tomlin imploding and Kluber running out of gas....

In fairness, Bauer was only one issue among several I mentioned. Also, I'm less upset about the pitchers pooping out than I am about the complete brain farts in the field and at the plate. I mean, it's like people forget how to throw and catch a baseball. So many unforced errors. Napoli. Kipnis. All the outfielders except Coco. So many bad at-bats. So much crappy base-running. We HELPED the Cubs beat us, by not playing clean. Maybe next year. Maybe not.

After seeing what happened in games 6 and 7 when we failed to induce swings and misses, it's funny that there's still somebody advocating that we should have gotten Merritt involved in this series.
