No, but I think they may have given AJ the title now so they can blow off the feud at Battleground instead of having the title switch occur there and then Owens needing another rematch. This way, their feud ends at Battleground and Owens can move on to whatever their plan is for him at Summerslam. Maybe he gets a shot at Jinder? I haven't really read any plans for Jinder after the Orton feud presumably ends this month.

Well, if he's not hurt or something, maybe they're going to go with an Angle/Owens program? I could see that. Owens is angry that he's not getting his rematch and Kurt tells him tough shit. Owens lashes out and destroys Gable, who is someone Angle would undoubtedly like and respect. Then we get Owens/Angle for Summerslam. That would be fun.

It's just hard for me to imagine that we wouldn't have heard about an actual injury by now. And if it were a Wellness Violation, they probably would have publicly announced it by now. Plus, hard for me to see Owens pick up a Wellness Violation.

well AJ did say he didn't think Owens would get a rematch unless he proved himself like AJ had too.

If we look at Battleground
Cena VS Rusev- Flag match
Jinder vs Randy Orton - Punjabi Match
AJ vs ? - possible Stipulation match if its Owens.
Shinsuke vs Corbin
Usos vs New day

no idea what Sami Zayn, Chad Gable, will be doing

Would Shane vs Owens be a main event? nope but Daniel Bryan vs Owens but I see zero chance of that happening.

Owens/Shane wouldn't main event in all likelihood, but it would certainly be a marquee match. Owens is very over for a heel, and Shane is Shane. Personally, though, I think that's a Summerslam match, not a Battleground match. Owens not getting his shot at Battleground could be what leads up to it.

They did, but it helped make AJ. Maybe they want to do the same with Owens.

And it's not as if WWE is really a beacon of original ideas. They recycle storylines basically all the fucking time. Basically every Cena feud is exactly the fucking same plus or minus patriotism depending on where the heel is from.

Typically when they suspend someone they put out a press release. I guess it could still happen, but I have to think it would have leaked by now.

People kick out of finishers in basically every WWE match that is considered even remotely "big." Just the way WWE does business. I disagree, and I assume you do to, with the method, because I think it really devalues finishers and makes certain matches much more predictable (for example, in a Cena match, I always assume he'll kick out of the first finisher, which saps drama from the match), which is probably ironically the opposite of the intended effect.

Regardless, WWE hasn't respected finishers for years now. I doubt that's changing any time soon until Triple H takes over.

I get it.. Reigns ( who is TriplHH's guy) kicked out of the Tombstone and took Reigns two spears.to pin undertaker.. signaling the end of the Undertaker.

but Smackdown is being booked by NXT guys and they killed Lana's finisher right away.

if they have shinsuke kick out of the End of days that would be a crock.

I don't mind if someoe uses a finisher then something happens where they don't get the pin right away allowing a kick out . AJ I suppose has two finishers.

I just don't see why guys don't adapt a second finisher when everyone starts kicking out of the old one.
