I think the plan is for Strowman/Lesnar at Summerslam.

Not anymore. They finally realized having a champion that isn't on tv is bad. Reigns will squash Strowman, and take the title a Title Summerslam.

Horrible. They should have Strowman be the one to win the title. He's the biggest face they've got right now on Raw thanks to all the ass-kickings he's handed to Reigns.

They specifically mentioned her elbow drop in the press release so I'm guessing that report was either false or they changed their minds.

It was a report from Meltzer in WON. Usually pretty reputable. If they changed their minds, it was a good decision.

Meltzer also throws a lot of shit at the wall to see what sticks. He almost always phrases all of his "inside info" so that, if he turns out to be wrong, he's covered.

I really don't see what the issue was here anyway seeing as Bayley doesn't even use the elbow drop as a finisher. Not to mention that Bayley's version looks totally different, or that Kairi likely won't start on the main roster, so we're probably a year away at least from Bayley and her even crossing paths.

Owens dropped the title to Styles at a house show the other night. There's some speculation that he may end up back in the main event title scene after his DVD/Blu-Ray that dropped recently sold incredibly well. I guess both versions sold out on Amazon and they're also flying off the shelves of brick and mortar stores.

There might be more to the story regarding WWE’s decision to have Kevin Owens drop the United States Championship to AJ Styles on Friday night. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he does not know what the story is behind them taking the title from him but he is certain that there is a story behind it and he will try to find out. What is known is that it was a late decision so this was not something that was in the plans earlier this week. Owens was hurting at the last pay-per-view but continued to work so it’s possible that an injury forced WWE’s hand on Friday night. I will add that the Owens vs. Styles match at Battleground is no longer listed on WWE.com and Owens has removed the header and his profile pic from his Twitter account and he has posted anything on Twitter since Wednesday.

WWE has posted footage of AJ Styles’ United States title win from Friday night’s house show at Madison Square Garden. A clip of the match can be seen below and scroll down further for post-match comments from Styles. Styles put over his match with Chad Gable at last week’s Smackdown Live but then he questioned whether or not Owens would be getting an immediate rematch. Styles said, “maybe Kevin Owens has to go through a battle royal to be the number 1 contender for the United States Champion. Maybe something like that.” He added, “maybe me chatting it up with Daniel Bryan – we’ll see what we can do.”

Either way. The title appears to be outperforming prior wwe releases.

No, but I think they may have given AJ the title now so they can blow off the feud at Battleground instead of having the title switch occur there and then Owens needing another rematch. This way, their feud ends at Battleground and Owens can move on to whatever their plan is for him at Summerslam. Maybe he gets a shot at Jinder? I haven't really read any plans for Jinder after the Orton feud presumably ends this month.
