Yahoo: Nets moving closer to deal for Anthony

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This makes the LeDouche James debacle even more painful at the end of the day because Carmelo allowed Denver to get talent back. If this goes through Denver will get:

Derrick Favors (a number 3 pick)
Golden State's 2012 pick (it will be a 1 through 7)
AK 47 (a solid player that can come right in and start)

LeDouche left Cleveland with absolutely nothing. At least Anthony had the courtesy to tell Denver he simply isn't interested in playing for them. Denver has Ty Lawson as well, so I could easily see them dealing JR Smith, Billups, and Martin for salary relief and draft picks.

I couldn't have said it better myself! At least Melo was being upfront with Denver unlike Lebron with the Cavs!!

Carmelo Anthony is going to hold up this trade by refusing to agree to an extension with the Nets.

I still think the only way he gets traded is to the Knicks for a mediocre package. I think Melo to NY is a lock, if I could bet on him being a Knick by the beginning of NEXT(not this upcoming) season, I woud.

Cant this guy just go away

CAA agent William Wesley - aka Worldwide Wes -- has been the top pitchman working 'Melo on accepting deal to Nets, sources tell Y!

So New York is desperately seeking more 1st round picks to try and steal Melo...Would they give up Gallinari for a 1st and one of our SF and/or a 2nd? Be pretty sweet to plug Dano into our SF spot.

Now isn't the time to be giving up a 1st rd pick for guys anyone that's not a star.

I wonder if this is true......

According to the New York Daily News, a "reliable source" reports that Carmelo Anthony has approved a trade to the Nets.

Presumably this means that Anthony would agree to a long-term contract extension upon a trade to New Jersey.

A trade could be agreed upon as early as Saturday.

But Spears from Yahoo (via twitter) is saying that Melo has 48hrs to agree an extension with Nets, or stay put. I'm thinking this article is not true.

Mel AND Jordan Farmar on the same team?!
It's over for the rest of the league.

Why do we care what Britney says? This is getting ridiculous.

Wow. Were you being sarcastic there?

It is Marc J. Spears, he is a writer for Yahoo! Sports, and is on twitter (SpearsNBAYahoo).

I don't know...Gallinari just turned 22 and showed flashes of stardom last year. I think he'd be great in our system and with the lineup we're developing. Anyway, I'd rather have a proven commodity than an unknown one. But I do see what you're saying. It just seems pretty realistic that with Jamison, Moon, Parker, Mo...we have the potential to pick up more 1st round picks.

We are getting closer to a high lottery pick already

What does that have to do with supposedly winning a championship?

What I'm saying is they will be in Brooklyn(NY) soon and maybe Melo just cares about playing in a big city and getting noticed.
