Week 3 (9/27): Raiders (1-1) @ Browns (1-1) [1:00 PM EST, CBS]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Josh McCown has more passing yards this week than Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning combined.

In the last two years the Raiders have pulled in Khalil Mack, Derek Carr, and Armani Cooper with their first rounders. Really was given hope to that franchise.

2 of the 3 thought they'd be drafted by the Browns.

What would the reaction be if Manziel threw for 341 and two TDs today?

While being plagued by Khalil Mack to boot.

It was encouraging seeing McCown playing badly enough that another bad start forces Pett to seriously consider giving him the hook.

Then he has a couple very nice drives...ending in a putrid interception.

Until he inevitably gets hurt, he's going to do just enough to keep Johnny on the bench.

So we'll have to wait two more years to figure out what only Ray Farmer didn't know when he picked Manziel.

Wasnt necessarily trying to play the Browns angle- I think trading down was right and I never knew much about Carr honestly- but it just shows that the opportunity has clearly been there in the first the last two years.

McCown looked better when the Raiders got soft with a big lead. The last drive pretty much summed up why he is a career back up.

A little late window dressing masked what was for the most part a brutal performance from the team. Not too much to like right now.

as was pointed out by the announcers, mccown couldnt step into that last throw. because once again he was facing pressure.. if he is able to step into that pass it at least is incomplete if not a TD for the browns.

that said mccown clearly demonstrated today why he is the starter and manziel isnt. mccown may not be a world beating QB, but certainly better than johnny

Carr was the guy Shanahan wanted.....bad. LaCanfora said Carr was the top QB on the Browns board going into the draft and they bypassed him for Manziel. That was the very beginning of the end for Shanahan and the Browns.

I agree with the trade down BUT Mack looks like he's that elite player worth passing up the extra 1st round pick.

I dont know about that. it took Mccown 49 passes to get two touchdowns. Manziel got 2 in 15 passes

This.

The Raiders have an elite pass rushing team. They were generating enough of a rush to disrupt the Browns running attack today too. This would've been a messy game if Manziel played. Very messy. McCown was inconsistent but he didn't have a ton of time or space to get his throws off. Johnny would've been running for his life....

McCown sucks, but he's not why we lost. He was good enough to win. Our defense and coaching staff sucks.

Yep, and he would have gotten more experience dealing with that type of pressure.

It's much more troubling to me that our o-line looks like shit though.
