At some point Moz, Andy or Love will need some time off for a minor injury and Kaun will be a bit more than a victory cigar.

At this point the true victory cigar seems to be Harris.
Should have made a bet with you when you made this comment about his minutes still being under 10 when the injury came.

Does anyone think he is going to moved before the trade deadline to "make the money work"?

The fact that even the guy's former coach won't play him after Moz is debilitated is very telling. Either Blatt is very comfortable with his current "big" rotation, or more likely, Kaun is just far from being able to compete at the NBA level.

This team just has no luck when it comes to its 5th big. But I suppose there are worse problems...

If you want to get technical, Kaun is our 6th big since Jones plays strictly stretch 4. I don't think of Jones as a big but Blatt seems to use him in the big rotation.

Not only that Kaun is a 30 year old rookie on a championship squad, not a lot of minutes to be had to begin with; injuries or not.

I would have one, but another injury and we will see Kaun get major minutes

And i dont see how we would trade him, way to good of a contract for a legit center. He would be in the rotation of 75% pf the teams in the NBA. Solid player for 1.2 million for sure.

Not sure why you play him when Andy only got 13 mins. It just shows how deep we are. You typically only play 3 bigs, and with Lebron being a mismatch nightmare at pf, we basically have 6 bigs to rotate for 96 mins. When big number 2 or 3 goes down, doesnt mean big number 6 will suddenly get minutes.

Just has nothing to do with his skill, just that we are deep and it will take a 2nd injury for Kaun or any 5/6 big on this team to get minutes.

It's a long season, so hopefully at some point Blatt will give him 5 mins or so during a more meaningful point in a game rather than just the 2 mins of garbage time at the end. It would be nice to see how Kaun responds to a more meaningful situation. I feel like we still don't have a good idea of what he can offer us this year.

He looks kind of lost or intimidated out there to me, but he was a solid player overseas for so many years, so it seems like there must be some skill there.

I have this theory that part of why Blatt likes to play James Jones consistently is that Jones has a lot of experience in crunch time and that maybe Blatt values JJ as a late game inbounder. If LeBron is going to insist on being the guy who takes the shot then you might want JJ to inbound the ball since he's got some height to see over the defender. Blatt can't really ask him to sit on the bench for days or weeks at a time and not have rust in those key moments so maybe he figures just throw him out there for 5 mins every night to keep him ready.

Me too.
He's a smart player, especially on D, always fights hard, runs the sets perfectly and sets great screens.
He could give our guys relief at the end of the 1st and 3rd, I think.

Who loses minutes? Love, Tristan or Moz.

We just have a good front court and its healthy at the moment

Andy, I'd bet. He's already used sparingly, but Andy is a specialist at this point: who on the opposing team needs a lesson in patience? Other than that, there's not as much reason to play as there was in our previously-thinned-front-court years.

But Andy isnt playing but 5 mins a game every 2nd game or so. We use Lebron at pf in some lineups too, so i just dont see any time for Kaun unless we get hurt. This is how it was going in, he is not a victory cigar, he is an insurance policy.
