Tristan is part of some our best lineups, but I do think Blatt gets a little carried away playing him at the 5 at times when we really need a big body in there. Thompson is perfect for small ball but he gets dominated too easily by bigger centers and is ineffective at protecting the rim. Kaun would be perfect to slide in there against teams with larger front courts (Chicago, Memphis.)

True, but when he's in shape, Mozgov can easily handle more minutes. He looked great playing 26-30 minutes in the occasions that he got to last season. Healthy Mozgov>>>Kaun IMO, and Mozgov has been looking more like himself lately.

Very true, but the more Mozzy plays the more prone he usually is to being in foul trouble. Blatt will normally pull him and put TT out there when Kaun may work better against certain matchups.

Looking at the games last regular season with CLE where he played more than the 19-20 min he has been lately there was really only one game where he was "in foul trouble". Included plus/minus and whether we won the game since I had the stats there. In the playoffs, there were only 2 games where he had 5 fouls, one was game 4 vs CHI where he played 38 min (we won), the other was game 4 versus ATL where he played 35 min (we won).

CLE @ GSW 26 min, 2 PF, -17 L (his first game with the team)
CLE @ SAC 32 min, 3 PF, -21 L
CLE @ LAC 25 min, 4 PF, +9 W
CLE vs CHI 33 min, 4PF, +17 W
CLE vs UTA, 39 min, 4PF, +10 W
CLE vs OKC, 28 min 4PF,+2 W
CLE vs POR, 35 min 3PF, +12 W
CLE @ IND, 32 min, 3PF, +3 L
CLE vs MIA, 33 min, 4PF, +6 W
CLE @WAS, 29 min, 1 PF, +42 W
CLE @ DAL, 33 min, 3PF, +23 W
CLE vs IND, 34 min, 2PF, 0 W
CLE vs PHI, 32 min, 4PF, -4 W
CLE vs CHI, 31 min, 5PF, +6 W

I dont think its an inshape thing, its a match up thing. Small ball is starting to dominate so having quicker bigs out there sometimes makes our matchups better.

I will say that Blatt is starting to do very well figuring out when we need to adjust on match up to the opponent and when to force the opponent to matchup with us.

I hope so. there's certainly been a lot of occasions where we don't exploit matchups (especially in the 4th quarter when we always roll with TT or even smaller lineups), but this year I haven't been clamoring for Mozgov to play in the 4th since he looked so rusty up until the last few games.

Dust this fu_ckin' guy off already and see if he's the rim protector we so desperately need at the moment.

He's not.

Would love to see this guy get more minutes than just garbage time.

Everyone always wants to see the end of bench guys get more minutes, but there's a reason they're end of bench guys to begin with. Kaun just isn't good enough to give this team legitimate minutes.

He is supposed to be a shot blocked and pick and roll defender. He doesn't look very coordinated

His shorts match his jersey.
