So long, David Griffin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fuck you for blowing 2 1st rounders on essentially half a season of Mozgov.

It's okay to admit that Griffin is awesome but he's still prone to making mistakes. This is one of them.
You said "fuck you griffin." Moz was a major factor last year in making the finals. Bringing back moz with how bad he was at this price would have been worse than these two first rounders you're complaining about.

If anything we should be saying THANK YOU for not being Mitch Kupchak

Moz was never in the long range plans. that was confirmed by shump and TT's long term contracts.

Griffin already said that Smith and Jefferson was a priority as far as retaining free agents. aka priority doesn't mean overpay a guy it means focus on getting that guy back at value.

It will be interesting to see Griffins opinion on Kaun and his NBa transition..

Griffin already expected to lose Mozgov and he stated his priority was sign a Wing so I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to use the TPE on wing and picks up a center at min or uses an exception,

Fuck you David Griffin for not using your gift of foresight to see that Timo would have health problems that would severely limit him as a player and eat away at his confidence...good GMs could see that shit coming from a mile away...

Fuck you for blowing 2 1st rounders on essentially half a season of Mozgov.

You regularly have the worst posts on the board. The shit you said about LBJ during the finals was epic levels of moronic. And you keep piling it on with each new piece of idiocy you spew.

What else were we going to do with those draft picks? Draft players and develop them? No. We would have traded them for someone else.

Also, we did NOT trade 2 of our own picks, only 1.

1 of those two picks was a worthless protected pick from the Thunder we got in the trade for Shump and JR. And since the two deals happened basically together, we essentially traded Dion and 1 pick for Moz, Shump, and JR.

Even with the benefit of hindsight, and knowing what we know now, that was still a great trade.

If you asked me right now to choose between Dion and 1 pick, or Shump and JR--I would make that trade with no Moz again tomorrow.

Hello Mr. JMoneyYourHoney, who is your favourite Cavalier of all time?

JMoneyYourHoney:- "Ha! Easy. The two 1st rounders we sent away in the Mozgov trade!"

Would never understand the fascination some people have with these mid/late 1st rounders picks.

Eh, I'm a knee-jerk reaction type, usually aided and abetted by copious amounts of alcohol. I don't know if I should be flattered or alarmed that somebody would take me so seriously on here.

I like Griffin a lot and truth be told, I was 100% behind the 3-team trade, especially where Mozgov was concerned because of how dire our front court situation was at the time.

I suppose I'm just bummed that Mozgov is gone with no assets to show for it but more than anything, I'm bummed because I liked Mozgov a lot and I felt he was still very capable as a rim protector. Dude got shat on all year because of his butter fingers but I think he still excelled as a low post presence.

I still wonder though how meticulous Griffin was before he settled on Mozgov. I know we were trying to pry him from Denver in the summer but I think somebody younger and on a longer term contract would have ultimately worked better for us.

The Lakers were willing to pay the guy $16 mil per year. In that kind of situation you just tip your hat, thank him for his time and move on.

As for getting someone younger and on a longer term contract...you think two protected draft picks from a Dion Waiters trade would get that done? We didn’t have any assets to get a player like you described.

There’s nothing to be bitter about really. It’s not the Cavs fault that the salary cap jump has the free agent market insane right now.

Insane? It is outright stupid. Even if Moz was 100% healthy and 26 that would be a steep offer.

These guys are so stupid they probably voted for the Brexit.

Or as I like to call them, future euro league players.

Given we swindled one of the those picks out of the JR / Shump deal, I'd call it even.

Griff turned a failed draft pick he didn't make (Dion) in to a starting SG and a top 7 guy in the rotation of a championship team.

Any contender in the league would take that swap, regardless of the pieces that moved as a result.
