Im at peace with it. Just too much to over come and they ran out of gas. I will say if I never see a "HAHA THEY ARE CLEVELAND AGAIN!" or "Delete those 3- jokes" tweet, thatd make me happy.
Why?

We just had one of the great 4+ months stretches in professional sports history. So much to be happy about as a Cleveland sports fan. If idiots on twitter want to make snide comments because they have no grasp of context, then that's their loss. Probably jealousy.

I still congratulate the Tribe and I'm proud of them, I'm proud to call them my hometown team, what team of recent memory lost their best player, their #2 and #3 starting pitchers, and starting catcher and played in the final game of the MLB calendar?

Bottom line the Cubs and Maddon were working with a stacked deck, on the other hand the Indians were working with scraps, mainly in the starting pitching department. But tell me this, if a healthy Brantley is batting cleanup does his approach come through better than a 4-24 Napoli? I'd go out on a limb and say hell yeah fuckin right.

The best thing about this run is all it did was make it closer to February/March then before you know it the boys are back in town. Recent years we're done in September and waiting for February/March. We got some bonus baseball this year amd I wouldn't trade it for nothing.

We still beat the mega payrolls of Boston/Toronto and that is something to never downplay.

All the Indians did was put pressure on the front office to not stay stagnant. They'll get killed for it. This young nucleus will get it done.

I feel perfectly fine. It was a fun ride while it lasted. Personally I thought the tribe over-performed to get to where we were with what we had. In the end the better, more healthy, and stacked team won. I knew if we did not take game 6 it would be over, and it was. Having great relief pitching is amazing and all, but having only 1 good starter is not enough. We bled Kluber dry for what he has, that was obvious. Did anyone watch him warming up before the game? He was sweating bucket-loads, like unhealthy amounts of sweat just throwing a ball warming up. I knew something was up then.

I'm just thankful for the team and what they did with what they have. Will cherish the moments out at the bars downtown going crazy with my friends and strangers for our team. Valiant fucking effort! Especially those vets who had no right to win / keep us in games, (Crisp, Davis).

What we have right now is a winning equation. Tweak the line-up minimally and go at it again next year!

What a great fucking game and a great fucking season.

Indians had no business beating the Red Sox, much less sweeping them. They had no business beating down the Jays, though beating them was reasonable.

They had no business being back in that game last night...but the fuckers pulled it up.

They made mistakes not to seal it. And that sucks. But there isn't shit Tito or anyone can do about that now.

It's unfortunate that they lost a 3-1 lead due to the jokes, (wish they'd have been down 3-2) but they were beaten by a better team.

The Indians got through more challenges that any baseball team in recent memory in losing their best hitter and their #2 and #3 pitchers and still managing to play dominant regular season and playoff baseball.

It's time for fans to reward the franchise with attendance next year. In a city where they are competing with the Browns for fans' money, that means NOT spending money on the Browns.

I sincerely hope that both franchises are treated with what they have earned by recent performance.

Taking a series like that (and the subsequent cheap shots from ESPN, etc.) in stride is why I adore this city, its teams and especially - its fans.

We take the high road, we're humble, and we take pride in what we accomplish - which was a hell of a lot in 2016.

Don't hang your heads today. Fuck SportsCenter and the talking heads. 28 other teams/cities would trade places with you today.

Go Cleveland. Nothing stops this train. We're back and here to stay.

I feel worse this morning than I did last night.

This. It may have been the six pack of Christmas Ale I nervously smashed throughout the game that numbed out the feelings of last night, but waking up sober at 6am and having to go to work really made this nightmare set in.

I live in Illinois and have to deal with everyone at work wearing their "Chicago Cubs 2016 world champions" sweatshirts today. Dicks sports was open after midnight selling championship gear.

At least you folks in Cleveland can commiserate at the water cooler. I'm on an island over here :doh (27):

Still very proud, yeah last night was disappointing. Great season. Indians weren't suppose to be there, but took the best team in baseball to seven games and had them on the ropes last night. Just shows the fight in the team.

Did anyone else thought that Kipinis foul ball was a home run?

Really excited for the White Sox fan to talk shit today.

Smile and wave, smile and wave

Only thing they have going is: Well, we were first place for a month.

Honestly, how were they a first place team?

No, he's a Cubs fan in October. He literally took down his White Sod stuff, put up Cubs stuff, and said they're his NL team.

Let's be honest, this likely won't happen. But hell, even a 5% shift from the Browns to Indians would have a nice little boost next year.

That said, I really enjoyed this playoff run. While I don't see myself tuning in for every game next year, I can definitely see myself at a bar next summer, on the patio, with a great local IPA in hand.
