That can seem like a trivial thing to some people, but I don't really think it is. At least to many people on "my" side, the PC really meant "the silencing of everyone who disagreed with liberal orthodoxy." It included feelings about BLM and the targeted killings of cops. And I think that's a version of it on display upthread with the woman ranting that a vote for Trump was a against "my America", and that "this is not your America."

A big FU to those who said there was only one acceptable POV. Heck, with the reaction to Trump's win, including the Electoral College war and it's Hollywood allies, I truly feel that if Clinton had won this election, it might have been the last truly free/fair one we'd get.

Does it surprise you Notorious disagreed with me because I posted? I was simply substantiating that you were not the only one who heard what you did.

I understand the PC arguement, but heard it more on a "he's a loose cannon who can't be tamed" POV than what you were mentioning.

And it's heartening to see the left getting an early start on 2020 when it comes to boosting the anti-PC vote:

Holiday cheer from MTV News: It’s time for some “white guy resolutions”

Something they threw together in the spirit of the season to remind us that racial and gender stereotypes are bad, with one exception. As a billion people on Twitter noted this afternoon as this dopey clip made the rounds, it is indeed basically a campaign ad for Trump 2020....

That clip is exactly it.

Do a lot of you know liberal white women that unfriended people who voted for Trump or whom they ASSUME voted for Trump even if those Trump voters never expressed any political opinions on facebook?

Because I know several of those people.

And those people alone kinda sorta make me wish I'd voted for Trump just out of spite. The election's over and I'm starting to get it...

Notorious: red pill and a coat?

No, and yes, that's how I understood your post as well.

I understand the PC arguement, but heard it more on a "he's a loose cannon who can't be tamed" POV than what you were mentioning.

I think those two things are related, though not exactly the same. The "loose cannon" thing is maybe a bit broader -- they didn't think he'd be owned by Wall Street or be as beholden to the D.C. political establishment. But I do think there's an anti-PC component to that as well. The pure-PC angle goes a bit more into social issues, maybe veering into national security a bit.

I will say my 20 year old, generally apolitical daughter shocked the hell out of me by coming out in support of Trump. Her issue was security -- she just thought it absolutely ridiculous that there was this sensitivity about saying "Islamic terrorists", and not having more secure borders, but she kind of expressed that in concert with anti-PC'ism. Apparently, she'd heard Trump railing against Islamic terrorism, and wanting to secure the border, and that was enough for her.

That reaction kind of interested me, because it seemed to fit into that (I think very insightful) observation about his supporters taking him seriously not literally, and his opponents doing the reverse. She heard his tone/language, thought he was serious about it, and that was enough for her. I should point out that she's going to community college and working, so she is not typical of people her age exposed to the typical university brainwashing educational experience.

racism is a tool used by the left to garner votes.

Can of worms, Pandora's box.

Democratic candidates use this to bait voters, who subsequently become racist, because they see the entire world in black and white.

Climate change is racism.v

Racism is still racism.

Sexism is still sexism.

Morons are still morons.

Who is a moron?

People who don't understand what racism is, or inappropriately using it where it doesn't exist. For instance, like those who tell me climate change is racial.

Or those who tell me racism is only an instrument "of the left."

Six of one, half dozen of the other. Personally, I don't think you believe either either of those things and are just being antagonistic.

You said that the other day too, based onmy response to someone else asking me why I thought Donald Trump was portrayed unfairly in the media.

On my family's life, my beliefs aren't antagonistic or contrarian for the sake of. I believe what I believe, you're coming at me from a very assumptive angle.

Yes, I do believe those in power on the left and those who are looking for election look to bait people by using racism. Yes I believe Trump was misquoted and misrepresented.

I never claimed it's exclusively an instrument of the left, racism obviously exists, but it is a big and heavily used instrument.

People won't shut the fuck up about racism. Just ask yourself in a grand scale, "why?"

Probably because they get annoyed when someone says they can't do their job adequately because of their heritage.

Idk, just guessing.

I don't care how you spin it, that is a fucking TERRIBLE and EMBARRASSING reason to vote for someone for president. Out of spite? To make someone else feel bad? How childish is this country?

I've been ant-PC since day 1. I'm still pretty liberal.
