Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd love to see Millsap end up in Houston, I think he'd be a great fit...but now that I look at it I'm just not sure how Houston pulls it off unless they can simultaneously find a taker for Anderson. There's no point in paying Anderson 20 million a year while bringing in Millsap. No team is gonna pay that much for a back-up.

So, with that said, Oklahoma City, come on down!

Or....can you imagine, San Antonio? ALthough Aldridge has made it known he doesn't want to play Center, so probably not.

So, again, let's go Oklahoma City!

Boston. They can get him if they want to.

I was?

I was skeptical they'd give up both Korver and Thabo for a hot pile of trash. Which is why I said I was hoping for one or the other.

We still haven't seen full details of a deal here, either.
I won't quote the other stuff, but we got Korver for a hot pile of trash at least, as far as we know. Maybe I misunderstood you. Thabo does have way more value, and I said that I agree. Either way, that wasn't the point. I included your quote that was dead on. We are exactly replacing Dunleavy with Korver

I said I hoped they valued Cedi Osman. A first round pick is roughly the equivalent of that. Now, we know almost nothing about the pick at this point, so it might be a bit trashier than I thought they'd accept. Or, it could be a totally unprotected 2019 pick.

I dunno. We should hopefully find out sooner rather than later here.

If Boston or Toronto get him, we will have a bit of competition in the East. Toronto would probably be a bit more scary with him.
Boston with Millsap would just be a new version of the Hawks. They wouldn't do anything against us.

Now the Raptors...that would be a little more interesting.

I mean if we give up Cedi or an unprotected first like you said, it wouldn't be quite the slam dunk trade. If it is true all we give up is a protected first and the corpse of Dunleavy, and we get to keep Cedi, Felder, and Liggins, that is a steal.

Boston won't do it. They can't afford to trade away their assets for a 31+year old Millsap with one year left. They'd have to immediately max him out, and there goes their dream of landing a true blue superstar. This is particularly true with Thomas coming up for a new deal.

EDIT: I also think the same for Toronto. They aren't gonna break the bank for Millsap because I don't believe that they believe it'll be enough.

Not sure what Toronto has to give up. Carroll signing has not worked. And outside Lowry, DeRozan, and Jonas, their untouchables. They have nothing else enticing in a trade.

I think Boston goes for him. They've been desperate to add someone just to add someone.

That was my exact initial thought as well. But the major difference is Thomas at the helm running PG instead of Teague. Thomas is light years better, so I think it would be a whole new ball game. As well as Crowder and Bradley to contend with. But I think it overall puts them in more competition with 2nd best in the East with Toronto than it does with us. However, Celtics play us tough and physical.

I guess it is a question of how cheap Millsap is and what assets the receiving team would have to give up to determine whether it is worth it.

I'll give you a team. A desperate Portland that offers up their own 2017 unprotected pick, which has a good chance of landing in the lottery, along with, say, Meyers Leonard and Mo Harkless.

EDIT: I just convinced myself. A Portland team that just spent big money and isn't seeing results is the exact type of team willing to do something stupid here. If the Hawks can get an unprotected 1st from a team currently under .500 and out of the playoff standings + Mo Harkless? Take it and run. All in on Millsap to Portland.

Boston could probably add him without gutting major assets. They obviously would have no interest in trading their lottery picks. Jaylon Brown my guess would be the center piece.

So after the Korver trade (and supposedly trading away a 2019 first -- but a protected 2019 first), do we have any first round picks to trade? We can't trade 2018 (because we don't have 2018, or 2019) -- can we trade 2021?

Pelicans are gaining some steam to get Millsap. That would be a great pick-up by them. Millsap isn't good enough to be the No 1 option but he would be a very good complimentary player to have alongside someone like AD. Hield and Jrue is a solid back-court as well.

Eh... I think Davis would be better off leaving. Millsap will do nothing to help them in the future to get anywhere. If it does happen that will be... No one will care. Davis is rotting there and no one is talking about him and he is still a top talent.
