So, this went a little unnoticed, but the 76ers announced Embiid was suffering from a "slight" meniscus tear.

Yikes. Stuff like that will always be a worry his entire career, and it’s a shame. It’s the sole reason why you can’t count on somebody like him to be a franchise player, no matter how insanely talented he might be.

Really sucks because before his injury concerns I haven’t been that excited for a center’s potential since Shaq or Hakeem.

The center position is about to make a huge, huge comeback. Assuming Embiid can stay healthy, you're looking at 3 guys who have the potential to be the best centers we've seen since Shaq in Embiid, Towns, and Jokic. I know it's crazy early to say that, but when you watch those guys it's not hard imaging them being better than Dwight Howard.

Celtics should be going hard after Butler--would make them a legitimate threat.

Portland are going to get much worse this year after that one.
they couldn't sign Plumlee next season since they signed Leonard and some other atrocious contracts this off-season, but Plumlee was definitely a good player for them.
Nurkic might be better going forward because of contract flexibility and that pick (is it ours?) might turn up into something.

I guess Denver is trying to push hard for the playoffs but Plumlee makes no sense for them and they are probably going to extend him and it's going to be costly.

They might turn that 1st from Denver, which is Memphis' pick into someone like Bogut or may be even Ibaka. Actually, they should try for Ibaka. Orlando could do with some solid wing players and Porland are filled with wings.

May be Turner/Crabbe and 1st for Ibaka?

Why in the world would Denver add a first? Plumlee really isn't that good.

If Portland is going to make another trade using the assets they have now (3 1st round picks in 2017), they are going to be in a much better shape than they were prior. They have tons of salary to match for a star/impact player.

I think Plumlee is a good Center but he is bad bad fit for Denver.

Firstly, he can't play with Jokic. Plumlee isn't good defensively and Jokic is quite rubbish defensively.

Plumlee would have been good at someone like Pelicans alongside AD. Would have offered them some good playmaking and offense.

I was holding out hope the Nurkic would somehow fall into our laps with how quiet things have been on him. Oh well, last time we traded for a foreign Denver C we lost the NBA finals.
