JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At least he saw a few go in. Kyrie and Bron and passing up shots to force feed him some looks but it was nice to see him make an impact onto the game.

Looking at all these lineups though, I wonder what this team will look like at full strength.

With Dwill, Jr is a legit scary option off the bench. Not that he wasn't before, but he does much better with a good assist guy

Awesome to see JR shoot 50% from the field and 3/7 from 3 in his second game back after 3 months on the sideline. The more he hits shots, the more he will play, the better his conditioning will get, in turn increasing his D and shotmaking ability.

Can't wait until he is starting and Love is back and finally the band is back together. We basically haven't had our championship starting 5 for a majority of that year and that has played into inconsistency big-time. Obv LeBron is the best, but many people on the team, Lue and Bron included, called JR our BEST perimeter defender last year. (His numbers were very good on that end too.... not just normal BS you say about your teammate).

So yeah, when you're missing your BEST perimeter defender, your D is going to take a big hit. (And obviously losing Delly was big in that regard too, even tho he's getting torched a lot more this year, lol. Throw that in with no Moz(even tho he didn't play a lot/didn't play great, he still made the D better throughout the year), LeBron going into EXTRA defensive chill-mode.. I'm not surprised our tanking has dropped so much. I don't think our defensive rating is even close to indicative of how good/bad our D really is, and I think we will be good enough to get stops when it matters.

But I def. appreciate JR. Great to see him hit them

Just read the extent of JR's thumb fracture on Marla Ridenour's blog post. It was BAD.

He needed a plate and eight screws. Damn.

8 screws on a thumb? wtf? my clavicle break only needed like 7. He must have a freakishly long thumb.

Front rim all night. Legs obviously not under him.

No better way to get in shape than playing a real NBA game though.

Give him a few weeks. He'll get there.

Read this post and thought you were talking about tonight for a second.

Legs still not under him. But he's getting closer. Less front rims and more 'almost down' shots.

Doesn't make sense since he can't throw it in the ocean right now, but he should be put back into the starting lineup. He's going to be the playoff starter. Might as well get the rotations down the last 17 games.

I know Shumpert played great tonight and everything, but JR is back now.

Time to put Pipe back in the starting lineup.

Ehh, I wouldn't say he's for sure "back" until he puts together a stretch of good games. He had a decent game in Orlando then had no legs whatsoever against Hou. not surprising for a guy who is working on his wind to suck at a B2B. But his wind is still a work in progress...but it will get there. No doubt. Probably before the end of the regular season too.

I'd still start him though.

Honestly, I may make his first start the same night Love comes back. Gives JR another week or so to get his legs under him, and then our real starting 5 can immediately start working on their rhythm as a unit. Korver should be back by then too, so our bench unit can work on their rhythm as well. We will finally have our full team together in the right spots. Can't wait.
