Poopin ok?

I feel like this is the wrong thread to be asking this. But yesterday, I must have eaten something that didn't fully agree with me. Needless to say, I probably lost 2lbs.

Logan - 9/10

Finally a superhero movie that hit me in the feels. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart prove that they were expertly cast back in 2000. After 17 years, their on-screen chemistry remains great and in a superhero movie where the plot doesn't revolve around saving the world but rather saving a small group, with the stakes lowered the movie felt much more relatable on an emotional level.

It's a shame this is our first and only R-rated Wolverine movie b/c the character was created for this type of action. Watching Jackman now in past movies just won't hold up to what we saw in Logan and that's a shame.

"Logan" was really good.

Totally agree re: the character development and emotional "skin" the audience has in this movie's outcome. But here's the thing... it wasn't just a small group they/he was saving.

It was Logan/Wolverine's biological daughter. It was the last of the remaining mutants. Kids who were abused, tortured, and set to be executed. The entire future of the mutant race... and Professor X and Wolverine give their lives to save them.

Either way... I agree... its at least an 8-8.5/10 if not a 9/10. Great, great superhero movie. Probably in my top 5 for that genre. Definitely top 10.

The Belko Experiment

Fun little action/horror B-movie. Not really all that creative, and I am sure the same plot has been repeated a bunch of different times, but still fun.

John C. McGinley is a national treasure, though. His facial expressions were probably the best part of the movie.

Nightcrawler - 7/10

Solid film. Gyllenhaal does a great job of being fantastically sleazy in the film, and really sells that he's a total sociopath. Great acting performance from him, and quite a bit different from the roles I'm used to seeing him play on screen. The scene where he takes Rene Russo on a date is absolutely fantastic and the way it plays out was the polar opposite of what I was expecting.

The main problem with the film is that there really isn't anyone to like or root for. Gyllenhaal is a horrible person. Russo isn't much better. The kid Gyllenhaal hires to be his assistant is dumb as shit. Still, it does provide a good examination of modern daily news shows and how they try to frame the stories to fit narratives that sell. I also enjoyed the way it ended.

Overall, worth a watch.

Get Out

I am not a big horror fan, so I was planning on skipping it. But the buzz and reviews were too much and I felt compelled to see it.

Easily....EASILY...the best movie I've seen so far this year. Legit contender for best screenplay. Very well cast. It's the most I've laughed at a movie since at least The Hangover.

Beauty & the Beast- great flick. Very little complaints. The vocals during the songs didn't seem loud enough but that's it. 9 out of 10.

Power Rangers - I'll have to watch again after the nostalgia wears off, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Just the right amount of tackiness. 6.5 out of ten.

Life

Ever see Alien? Life is pretty much the same thing, only not quite as good. Watchable, though.

Is it legit scary?

I know it came out in 2016, I don't watch movies that often, "The Accountant" is one of two I've seen this year...the other being "Split".

Have intentions on seeing Get Out and Logan when they come to VHS.
