The Walking Dead

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That gunfight was so weak. Dumpster gang had guns pointed at everyone - they should have all been killed and the show ends. How the hell does the tiger know who to attack...and get that close without anyone seeing it? The gun battle showed people galloping around and firing aimlessly - without any emotion. It was like a toy gun battle - no looks of anguish or fear - just kinda shooting with limp wrists. Directing was bad.

I think the dream sequences were meant to show what happens upon death and turning - I didn't mind that as a way to show death, and I frankly didn't see that coming (should have though).

I can't get too hung up on the tiger because I've been waiting to see it crush someone for a while. Fuck the trash people tho. I didn't see that coming. But yes, without a doubt, it doesn't AT ALL make sense that once Sasha jumps on Negan, the trash people magically can't hit the broad side of a barn. The reality is that given the situation, maybe 1 or 2 of Rick's crew would be alive. The rest would have bullets in their heads. Sad!

The best I could do is say that there was clearly something of significance happening outside the wall that was unexpected, the people inside could hear that, but not see it, so maybe some of them got distracted for a moment. The leader, who could see what happened, never lost focus.

That's the best I got.

I dunno, maybe Ezekiel trained the tiger to attack on command. They have dogs that will rip you to shreds on command, what's a tiger? :chuckle: Who cares. That stuff is nothing, I'm not going to complain about shit like that. Suspension of disbelief is part of any TV show that isn't grounded in realism, and a zombie apocalypse show is the furthest thing from an exception.

The gunfight being terribly directed, as you mentioned, is however a huge complaint. The end of it was so confusing I had no idea what was happening and who was who. Most of it was just people aiming guns and shooting, like you said. Truth be told we hardly saw anyone get hit besides a few Saviors or maybe they were trash people, I have no idea. That's what I meant by it was so unsatisfying. 15 and a half episodes of our heroes being beaten into the dirt, I'd like to think they could have an epic gunfight/battle where our heroes emerge victorious where it actually FEELS like they inflicted some damage. This was a great opportunity to dispense some justice, yet somehow Negan, Simon, and even Trash Lady who is probably a throw-away villain all escape unscathed. Riiiiiight...

I daresay, it'd have been better if it just played out how Rick planned- with them bombing Eugene and the Saviors, successful ambush, Rick wins a decisive battle as the Kingdom and Hilltop arrive and rout them and the war begins. Sure, far fewer twists and turns that way and we don't get the great scene of Negan about to kill Carl, but...

I don't know. Put me in a room for an 8 hour work day and I'd write up that battle to where it'd be ten times better and more effective, then of course it'd be up to the directors and actors to actually make it work too but.

I may be in the minority but I really do love Andrew Lincoln as Rick.

I did have one other thought on why the Garbage Pail Kids didn't mow down Rick's people. Or at least, a decent explanation.

Basically, they weren't supposed to. Negan wants people to work for him, and if he wanted the Alexandrians dead, he'd have just told his allies to kill them and not bother trying to hold them captive in the first place. "Just shoot everyone with a gun when we get there." But that's not what happened, so that must not have been their orders. The orders must have been to hold them and try to take them captive, and not mow them down. That bit of hesitation when Rick's people sprung into action after Sasha gave them an advantage they might not otherwise have had.

uh...yeah. That's the ticket.

Well, yeah. Did somebody ask that question? Negan isn't out to massacre them- well, maybe he is now, who knows, but since the beginning he's been about getting them to work for him. He even says that in his first monologue on screen.

And even now, he gives Rick a chance to put down his guns and he will take everything they have and kill just one Alexandrian. Shit, even after Sasha-Zombie stirs shit up and gunfight breaks out, Negan's forces win, and he's still going to just kill Carl and break Rick's hands or whatever instead of killing everybody.

They could all see over it, they were standing behind Rick's people. When Negan first showed up they were all kneeling down to hide.

Still the whole scene was rather ridiculous, and yeah they all would have been dead with as many of the garbage dump people that there were.

Worst show on television -- hands down.

Is Secret Life of the American Teenager on? Vanderpump Rules? Mob Wives?

My sister in law watched those and they were horribly terrible.

I mean, it's terrible, but have you seen Iron Fist?
I went from "hate watching" this show to actually enjoying it (seasons ago). I'm at the point where I seriously doubt I'll watch the final season.

And as everyone has stated, that shootout was confusing as hell.

One thing I've always enjoyed about this show is how the characters can headshot a zombie from six hundred yards away with a pistol, but when two groups of living people exchange fire it's like they're original trilogy Star Wars storm troopers.

Wait a minute -- weren't a lot of those people inside the 12 foot walls of Alexandria, at ground level, and Negan/Sasha outside, maybe 4 feet off the ground? Some were on the wall and could have seen, but a lot weren't.

I feel like there were at least twice as many garbage people on the wall as Alexandrians. You are right, some were on the ground. But there were still quite a few that could see what was going on, and they were the ones that got shot first by Carl IIRC.

I've tried watching before. All I can think of is how quickly ex-military people would rule this world inside a month. Then again, there wouldn't be a show.

These people have to be fucking stupid to draw the series out so long.
