Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thompson was dominant in the Eastern playoffs, but has totally disappeared in the Finals. I have no idea what's going on with him, but I'm not on the "let's trade him!" bandwagon just yet. He's been an extremely important part of our success these last few years, and I can't get on board with moving him after a few bad, albeit insanely important, games.

Bad games would be one thing. Like some 5 point 10 rebound outings would be bad games.

He's had two scoreless games out of 3 and barely has 10 rebounds for the series.

There's your general bad. And then there's not even registering as a player bad. He's basically Deron Williams, only with more minutes.

Yep. He's been a trainwreck. Or worse. Probably the most shocking part of the series for me.

I refuse to let this thread die while others rage on.

I need to know Griffin is on the phone with Phil right now trying to figure out a way to get that goof to give us Carmelo for this clown.

I don't know why but I find this hilarious.

Back on topic. The thing is, TT was good against the Warriors last year. He's good against teams in the East we have to go through whether it be MIL, TOR, or BOS. He sucks against the Warriors now because they have the potentially GOAT team. Are we trading him for a player that gives us more than he does? Does that player put us over the top to beat the Warriors? If the answer to that second question is no, then I would rather keep him because he helps us get through the East. We can trade him for a player that helps again GS, but then our path through the East MIGHT get tougher because he's not around.

All that being said, fuck this guy.

Tristan Thompson was the third best Cavs player in the NBA Finals last year, you know the one in which you guys ended your championship drought and defeated a 73 win team. And he's had a big impact in every playoff series you've played in besides this one. So for that reason alone he has been worth every dollar of his contract.

But my god - 11 total rebounds in three Finals games. It's just unfathomably bad play from him. Steph Curry has had at least that many rebounds in each of the last two games.

These are the 3 worst games I've seen him play since his rookie season. He's been solid to above solid the past 3 years in the playoffs.

Fans have really short memories and are ungrateful so I'm not surprised the pitchforks are out.

The most expensive flaming bag of shit you'd ever see.

Oh yeah almost forgot:

Looses a jump ball to Green, outrebounded by Curry, can't even get a shot off from point blank under the rim, can't shoot from more than 5 feet away, and he apparently can't guard anyone on the whole GSW starting roster.

TT is the biggest disappointment out of these playoffs out of a long list of disappointments.

Kudos to Kerr for playing TT out of this series. With KD able to freelance on D, they can afford to send more bodies to TT to keep him off the glass. When he's out of paint (likely part of some screening action), they just ignore him. One adjustment I would make as Lue is to leave him on the bench.
