The Paul George Safari: LeBron Strikes Back!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Politics aside here, I'm not much for overreactions but to be in that location (Cubs ceremony w/ cameras everywhere as opposed to doing it privately) in that moment is a slap in the face to the city of Cleveland and to your franchises greatest player ever.

All things being what they are, Gilbert's move today was foolish -- on so many levels, and that goes beyond the Cubs win over the Indians...

Again, I don't care about his politics... it's just not smart business.

So, after talking to a few biased Lakers fans, they believe Clarkson and Randle should win over Pritchard because Clarkson is better than Dunn, and he got sent for Butler.

As does everyone, they discredit Love's value (smh).

These people are hard to debate with.

People want to see Cleveland fail on top of a few more super teams created, (Hou, Bos)

Randle makes no sense; I went over this in the last thread... Clarkson is a hard sell..

But to be honest, does this really make a difference?

Cavs need a game plan beyond 1-year of Paul George... What is that game plan now?

Gameplan would be to hope he extends while LeBron extends. And if PG can't give his word of re-signing (which Stephen A says he's heard PG would extend) then it's a hard pass and Cavs focus on signing uprades over RJ, Shump, Frye this July. But somebody is getting PG, and it's gonna hurt.

I'm not confident LeBron or PG stays next year... I'm actually starting to think if we lose badly to the Warriors that James might bolt to play with his friends.

There's really no plan you can have outside of going after some vet minimum guys and hoping someone suddenly gets interested in Love at a high level.

You can't routinely demand shitty contracts for role guys so your buddy can get a nice commission and then reasonably expect to be able to make significant moves. It's just not possible. I love LeBron and all but getting his boy paid has largely fucked his chances here.

Well, shit, back to the shitter and joke of the league we go. I doubt we win 3 lottery's out of 4 ever again.

Without LeBron, this city's basketball team is a fucking wreck.

Could say the same about trading away all our draft picks...

Cavs are in a real bad spot right now.

Think Cp3 leaving LAC makes it even harder for the Cavs to get George. Clippers got some players they can try and use to add George, if they keep Griffin. Or Griffin leaves to join the Cs and Ainge finally comes to his senses and trades for George. It's a lot of ifs, but this happening and Jackson being fired didn't help our cause at all.

Yea. And I'm not mad about it, per se. We got a title. We have a very good team. But it just sucks that this league is trending toward strip mining organizations for superstar's short term gain, then moving on to the next willing party.

I'm satisfied with the title and if LeBron leaves, LeBron leaves. But there better not be much said disparagingly about the organization because it's his fault as much as anyone else's that it's been left in such a position.

Lot of panicking in here.

I don't think it's panicking.. It's recognizing that we're down 20 and there's like 6 minutes left in regulation...

Think about it this way.. What happens if we don't get Melo or George and end up losing to the Warriors 4-1 again? That's not far-fetched scenario; it's actually the most likely outcome right now...

So I think some concern is definitely warranted at this point.

If Jaylen Brown continues to improve, Tatum shows promise and Hayward joins Boston, we'd be lucky to be able to lose 4-1 again.
