The Paul George Safari: LeBron Strikes Back!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm curious so lets say worst case scenario happens, and we have to rebuild after this year. Does anyone actually trust this front office to do another rebuild after how badly they bungled the last one in terms of talent evaluation and drafting?

Huber you can't win an argument with yourself, you aren't killing shit.

You asked "why would they trade for Butler before signing Hayward," while Jimmy Butler is in fucking Minnesota, already traded away. That's why.

If only you had eyes to see...

I still don't know what yours is. All you've managed to do is ask a question that already had an obvious answer.

My opinion is the same as Ainge. Don't trade for a star until you have already signed Hayward. Only acquiring one of Butler or George without Hayward isn't enough to beat the Cavs. They could always make different moves if George is gone by the time Hayward signs

George has that "other" gear he can get to when he needs/wants to. You saw it vs. Cleveland in the first round.

Butler doesn't have anything close to that.

Please explain this. I simply do not understand what you mean. George was pretty clutch in our 4 game sweep until he wasn't, but I'm not sure I saw some gear that Butler can't reach. Just a heads up, though not an end-all argument, Butler has a higher career high in points and assists (tied in boards).

So the Rockets extend their GM who then executes a very complicated set of trades to acquire Chris Paul.

Imagine that, valuing your GM.

No. This is a simplistic cause/effect analysis.

Our own fans didn't value our GM, let alone our owner.

As far as we know, Griffin wanted to move on and knew that he peaked in this organization. No need to jump to conclusions.

The sky is not falling. We still have a good big 3. There's lots of time left to make moves. So far, I have yet to see a move that I wish the Cavs would have done.

I'm simply saying that there's a bit of an art to putting together a trade. And having a legit GM in place is important. While I have confidence in the guys still working in our front office, it's not as easy as saying Gilbert is in charge and our front office guys are still exploring trades. The Rockets have a GM with liberty to piece this together.

Or, maybe the owner was highly involved in the Rockets trade? You are assuming an awful lot. Trades have VERY little to do with GMs and owners, and more so to do with the market and where teams are in the rebuilding process.

If a team wants to trade with us, not having Griffin isn't going to change that. And, conversely, if a team does NOT want what we are selling, having Griffin wouldn't change that either.

People are making way too much out of the whole Gilbert/Griffin thing.

Personally, I liked Griffin and thought that he mostly did a good job. But, we also need a change of pace after the finals, and I think a new GM/president is a good idea. If I have to choose between replacing a coach again, or replacing the GM, then I think I'd go with GM.

Sure why not?

Because it's a really really bad look for Gilbert.. the owner of an NBA team.. an NBA team where LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are the face of the team.. A team that just lost in the Finals, to the Warriors who won't be going to the White House.. and he represents Cleveland who lost to the Cubs up 3-1..

At this time, when we need to attract players, in this context... its' stupid. It's so fucking stupid... And he's gotta know it's stupid and just doesn't care.

lol Don't forget about the part where the Cavs are comically sans a GM 48 hours before free agency.
