The Paul George Safari: LeBron Strikes Back!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@TyGuy

This was in the public thread:

"Look, Dan Gilbert has been the de facto GM for the last few seasons. If CG had his way we would have had Jonas instead of TT, Gasol instead of Bynum, no Jarret Jack, no Luol Deng, the Bennett pick would've been traded...I could go on. And it wasn't just the bad decisions that were forced on mgmt that were so painful. It was then having to waste VERY valuable assets to undo Gilbert's mistakes that was the double whammy.

If Dan really wants to clean house, then he should do what all successful organizations do - let the basketball people make the basketball decisions!! Meddling owners have gotten us where we are today. Dan is an outstanding owner when it comes to some things, when it comes to player personnel decisions, Dan, Tan and Bald are just awful and should keep their hands off."
Sure, there was another post I remember about Bennett being deemed the least likely to bust and that was on Grant to make the decision because he was just told to stay at 1 and make the pick.

I mean Kyrie was hurt in 2015 as well, and Love still played a big role in our win, especially in game 7.

The bolded is simply not true.... He had 1 decent game out of 7...

Wiggins has been in the league 4 years now and I don't see how he would of helped us,

He'd have played.... We lost 2014-15 simply because we ran out of players.. Delly was literally hospitalized from exhaustion... Shumpert injured his elbow.. We ran out of players and we were gassed..

it's easy to say if we had Wiggins instead of Love we win in 2015.We could easily say if Love and Kyrie are healthy for that series we win though too.

Sure, but they weren't. Again, as I said, in hindsight ...

Both of these statements are true:

1) You should trade Wiggins for Love 10 times out of 10.
2) The Wiggins/Love trade did not work out for us since Love did not contribute to winning a title.

I don't think so....

But like I said before, this conversation isn't for genpop regardless...

I'm telling you there was. I remember it vividly. I've searched for it before, but I think it's gone. Just like another post I made to @The Oi about the dreams I use to have where I had to piss hella bad, and I was lucky I never piss my pants in my sleep. I was going to go back and post that somewhere that those were the first signs I was a diabetic. That post is just gone, and I remember writing it in an off topic thread to Jigo. I even remember his response of "When I have to piss in my dreams I end up just pissing my pants."

:chuckle:

I get you.. but.. you might be confusing what was posted in S34 with what was posted in genpop.. That's my point.

We don't know if Wiggins would have played, maybe Olynk tears his shoulder instead of Loves....
Id say Love played well in 2 games in the 2016 finals if my memory is right, game 1 before the concussion, and game 7, despite the poor shooting.
This statement is true:
1.Cavs won a title with Love playing
2.Love>Wiggins

How anyone can read this post from Max, as much, maybe more plugged in to the Cavs than anyone on this site, and still think Gilbert is awesome, is beyond me.

I mean, I do appreciate the guy wants to win and spend. I'll never criticize him for that.

When there were reports he wasn't looking to spend, I was mum on that. I didn't criticize or bash him, because I know that no owner is willing to spend like him.

But this meddling shit, it pisses me off to no end.

Would you guys want some average dumb ass fan, making basketball decisions for our team?

No offense to anyone on here, even some of my own opinions; have turn out not good.

We're fans, we can have lengthy and sometimes right opinions about things. You can have a smart sports mind, but that doesn't mean you can make decisions on the big level.

I don't want those decisions going to people that have no clue what they're doing.

And Dan clearly doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to basketball decisions.

Isnt Wiggins graded as the worst defender in the league now?

Both teams won the trade. Minny got a 20 pt scorer and we got a ring

That is one of the few trades that literally fulfilled everything both teams wanted it to

Technically Tristan actually showed up for the first 2 finals before this year.
Love just showed up this year (yes I know he was hurt year one, but availability matters..)

Love was bad until this year in the finals. In fact Love was technically worse last year against GS (a worse team) than Tristan was this year.
The injuries, the bad previous finals, the solid but poor shooting in this year's finals have hurt Love's stock.

Thats what LeBron should get blame for.

He didn't let Griffin operate to keep the Miami pick or get back another asset. LeBron just assumed Love is a top 10 player so it doesn't matter the cost make the deal. So instead of getting Love and having other assets we just got Love.
I agree we could of maybe gotten more back in the Love deal, and like I mentioned earlier about how LeBron wanted the max, we had to move salary to give him that. So he holds responsibility for that.

I'd still trade Love for Wiggins though, I get Love was hurt, but we are easily a better team with Love.

Which leads to this, I'd easily move TT right now before even thinking about moving Love, as I think many around the league would. We can somewhat replace TT production and skill wise. But there isn't that many bigs in the league that can do what Love does.

Love had 9 points and 14 rebounds in a Game 7 that we won by 4 points. To claim that he definitively did not help us win a title is balderdash.

100% agree. This "Love doesn't contribute in the finals" narrative is horseshit. In finals #2 he had a serious concussion. In finals #3 he contributed a TON to our team, and had a few low scoring games when he was on the bench for foul trouble. Otherwise, he's been a VERY good 3rd fiddle.

The problem with Love is that people lose the forest for the trees. You can't ask Love (or any other all-star) to become the 3rd fiddle, and then simultaneously ask him to perform like the 1st fiddle. It's a bullshit contradiction that no one acknowledges.

I think we could retool our team for defense, work hard to play defense all season, keep our big3 as is, and beat the Warriors. But that's not flashy enough for most people.

If anybody can find the post I made towards @The Oi about having to piss in my dreams it would be greatly appreciated. I'm curious when I had the first signs I was a diabetic and how long it took me to get diagnosed.

Oh and:

Well if this is true say bye bye to Kevin Love. Hes on the table.

But LeBron needs to sign a deal. If this is PG13 stipulation it would be stupid to trade Love without Bron being signed

But that's not gonna happen because LeBron's f*** f*** games with Gilbert are more important than us getting George to LeBron.

god I hope im wrong on that one

Kevin Love played in 6 out of 7 games in the Finals, missing 1.

He put up 8.5 PPG / 6.8 TRB / 1.3 APG on 36.2 / 26.3 / 70.6... He rocked a TS% of 46.8% and an eFG of 41.5%...

He had a net rating of -16...

I'm a fan of the guy.. but to say he "helped us" win the Finals is just wrong.. it's fanboish... He had a decent game in Game 7..
