This seems a lot more plausible then the alleged failed CP/KI trade and is probably the most likely story.
Kyrie did not abruptly want out because LeBron *might* leave next year. That isn't plausible. No guy is gonna leave a championship contender because the team might not be a championship contender later down the line.

You're saying he is worried about not being on a contender but wants to go to the Knicks, Heat, etc.? That doesn't make any sense.

If LeBron had never came back then lottery night would be the only thing Cavs fans would have to look forward to every year. Blame him all you want but he brought you a ring.

That doesn't excuse him; if they had played their cards right it could have and should ve been dynasty with multiple rings but too many mistakes were made and lot of them were selfish

That wouldn't surprise me at all, if true.
Demanding a trade is something you do when you are really pissed off.
I thought Kyrie was generally upset that he was made available in trade talks.
Reports are he wanted to be traded last year so who do you really believe here..

Just to be clear, you're saying this is a reason Kyrie did something wrong?

He signs a long max deal and commits to the franchise after being told they would build a team to best take advantage of his abilities. No mention is made of Bron contingencies.

2 wks later, Bron signs and the whole team is reconfigured around Bron. For the next 3 yrs, picks are traded, old dudes are signed, Klutch clients are given highly questionable contracts.

Now he sees that this team that was entirely built around Bron and is going to be severely screwed if he leaves (which seems more likely by the week), and he's doing something wrong by saying that, if they're gonna go all in on Bron without hedging their bets, that he wants out?

How is he the bad guy in this scenario?

Read that RealGM article. Some excerpts:

"Kyrie Irving divulged to Dan Gilbert that he has reservations about how the Cleveland Cavaliers' roster has been constructed to complement LeBron James and that their long-term prospects could be compromised if James leaves in 2018.

James has refused to commit to Cleveland beyond the coming season and that has led Irving to become proactive in controlling his own career arc.

The Cavaliers play at a slower pace to suit James while paying Klutch Sports clients Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith on significant deals.

The Cavaliers have included Irving in trade talks around the NBA following his request and they even considered the possibility of dealing him beforehand.

Irving had wanted to discuss the possible trade scenarios with Cavaliers' ownership and management following The Finals, but the meeting was difficult since David Griffin's own future was uncertain"

Does that sound like a guy who was trying to do the Cavs wrong??? Or being selfish?? Or a guy who went into a meeting DEMANDING a trade??

Sounds more like a guy who's trying to be realistic about the need for the franchise to hedge their bets, and one who doesn't want to be the one to deal with the consequences if they don't.

There's going to be a ton of spin coming from Kyries camp, from LeBrons camp, and from the Cavs. We can't pick and choose and assume which information is true or not solely based on how it matches up with our own beliefs or allegiances.

Kyrie will be a FA at 27. He is currently on a championship level squad, one in which even with LeBron in the lead he still gets up 20 shots per game and handles the ball often in late game scenarios

He can't honor his contract here w out letting stuff like this leak for two more years? Even just one more year to see what plays out in FA2018

I mean sure LeBron has chosen to control his destiny by leaving Cleveland and then by leaving Miami but he did that at such time as when the contract he signed was up or had an option exercise.

We need to get a PG for Kyrie even if we sign Rose.

I don't trust Rose staying healthy at all.

We just cannot have Rose and then only Calderon/Kay Felder. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

Bron is our PG. I really would worry more about replacing Kyrie's scoring than his ability to run the offense. Or try to get an elite perimeter defender. This is our chance to get better defensively - which needs to happen.

That doesn't excuse him; if they had played their cards right it could have and should ve been dynasty with multiple rings but too many mistakes were made and lot of them were selfish
If Durant never made his bitch boy move and stayed in OKC then the Cavs were built to be a dynasty with multiple rings. Even with all the extreme contracts and Lebron's one year deals the Cavs were built to win several rings. They could've been looking at a 3 peat had Love's shoulder not gotten ripped out of socket. Then Durant went to Golden State and ruined everything... There was no way to predict that.

Bledsoe is a bulldog that is one of the best defensive PG in the league with great explosiveness while getting 21-5-5 and getting 2 steals a game... He isn't Kyrie but he can get 40 any given night as well and he will hustle his ass off on BOTH ends ... Don't sleep in him
Bledsoe/Rose would be a good combination at PG...

They did play their cards right

Then Durant to GS happens. A move that would not have been able to take place any other year in the past thirty years. The NBA salary cap has jumped between 1%-10% each year since the 90s. Some years it stood firm.

Then in 2016, because of the new tv money, the cap jumped 34%, allowing a championship 73 win roster to add an MVP top3 player.

It's a one time convergence of luck that completely sideswiped what the Cavs had put together not too mention the rest of the NBA who barring injuries, won't be sniffing a title for the next 3-4 years.

'Report'

singular

From Kyrie's bestest friend Brian Windhorst...

You've made you position oh so clear.

Any report that aligns with your vision of Kyrie as being in the right and having zero blame is correct.

Any report that makes Kyrie look bad or that suggests Kyrie wants to leave a championship caliber team just to lead his own team is suspect or fabricated.

I just want LeBron to stop all this drama, subtweets act like a MAN; stop all this rich paul secret meeting with lakers BS. Commit to this team and its players and kyrie to stay; and for them to figure out a way to add couple players to get better and compete with warriors and go back and forth.

You don't think its just a little odd that when this meeting happened 2 weeks ago and kyrie leaves for asia all of this is leaked...just seems really really strange and of course by windhorse of all people

Gee, what a surprise. Seems it wasn't what 'certain parties' were putting out there about wanting to be 'the man.'

It would be great to get Booker somehow.
Booker shoots 42/35/83 At age 20
Klay shoots 45/41/85 At age 27
Almost the same size as well.

I really dont think our mindset should be on who we can get to beat the Warriors. Without Kyrie, those chances are worse.
Also If we dont add some kind of youth to this team we will be in tow for yearly lottery runs..soon.
Rookies are not ready to help us in the Finals, but we have to prepare for life after LeBron anyway.
LeBron could be gone after this season regardless.

Watching the highlights..Bledsoe gives me a Felder vibe..
I would rather take Rose as PG add Melo for scraps and trade Kyrie for 1-2 rookies who have potential, to protect our future.

Are you new to basetball?...did you just compare a borderline elite defensive PG and a 21-5-5 guy to Kay fucking Felder?... Bledsoe attacks the rim and finish strong and is all over the place on D... My guess is some YouTube videos is all you have ever seen of him
