Well not saying we should do any of those deals exactly as presented but scan back through the last 25 years and try to find a trade where a top 25 talent gets another top 25 talent back.

This scenario we have to deal with is also unique because Kyrie is not our only star and we're resigned to setting off a rebuild. We still have the desire and expectations or competing for a title appearance next year and making LeBron feel good enough about the roster composition to re-up

It's not 25 years ago, but that Jabbar for Junior Bridgeman trade worked out pretty awesome for the Bucks.

We need to kill that RoadTrippin podcast. It was cute when it started but now I think it's all Jefferson (especially) and Frye care about instead of being in the gym. In the immortal words of Stephen Jax "You're not good enough to have an opinion".

Can't afford more distractions on top of the "brands" already on the team.

Kyrie Irving - Pepsi/Nike/COD/NBA 2K
Jr. Smith - Branded Store "Team Swish" w/ Logo
LJ - No need to expand
Love - Banana Republic/Underwear/Chocolate Milk
TT - Just got a personalized from Nike (prob by pull from LJ)/Kardashian.
Shumpert - Post 90s
Frye/Jefferson - Road Trippin'

You know you're in trouble when even the scrubs have a "brand". The definition of "the disease of more".

Josh Jackson is a young kawhi type. Maybe Bledsoe, Jackson and bender really would make sense.

We saw what Kawhi did for Spurs longevity. Maybe Lebron sees something in Jackson. Maybe he likes the mentor role. The kid plays great d already and rebounds.....

LeBron didn't want to wait till Wiggins developed, not sure he'd do the same for Jackson.

Jackson is impressive though. I like his all around game more than Wiggins at that age, but Wiggins had higher scoring potential.

Here's a scenario. It's completely ridiculous but shouldn't be ruled out because it's actually possible and maybe we can imagine it will happen for a day and stop being so depressed -

-We don't trade Kyrie and everyone loves each-other again
-We sign Rose to vet min
-We take a flier on Hibbert for the vet min
-We tell Tony Allen that even though he can still defend he's 35 so he has to take the vet min

Kyrie/Rose/Calderon
JR/Korver/Cedi
Lebron/Shump/Allen/RJ
Love/Green/Frye
Tristan/Hibbert

YIPPPPEEEEEEE

Night lovers.

Here's my contribution to the mix:

https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6920847#

Cle gets: Melo, Dennis Smith, Jr., Dallas 2020 top 5 protected 1st, Miami 2023 2nd round pick

Dal gets: Kyrie Irving, Shump, Kay Felder

NYK gets: Josh McRoberts, Devin Harris, Dallas 2018 top 10 protected 1st

After this trade I would sign D Rose to the minimum and promise him the starting job, which would give Smith a year to learn the ropes and be a hopefully high level contributor off the bench without forcing him to perform consistently for a championship team. With Melo in the fold, TT moves to the bench with D Smith, Korver, and Jeff Green as you'll want as much shooting as possible in the starting lineup to allow Rose to penetrate. The picks help us restock the cupboard in case Bron leaves or to be used as trade bait to continue to build the team if he stays. We also clear out a roster spot allowing us to still have space for a possible Wade buyout come winter time.

Dallas finally gets the star they've consistently struck out on, and can surround him with as Harrison Barnes and Noel as they young core going forward (Noel should be a welcome sight behind Kyrie to cleanup when the matador defense strikes). With not much of the way in talent to offer they have to give up 2 firsts and eat a bit of salary, but that's getting off pretty easily for a top 25 player.

New York finally can move on from the Melo era, save 16 mil, get a vet pg to mentor their rook pg, and get a likely mid first pick all without adding anything to the books moving forward. In my mind, they should be tickle pink.

Here would be our depth chart:

PG D Rose/D Smith/Calderon
SG JR/Korver/Osman
SF LBJ/Green/RJ
PF Melo/Frye
C Love/TT/Tavares

Defense might be scary, but with a pissed off Bron and some motivated new vets back in a winning situation (Rose, Melo, Green) maybe they can play at a higher level on that end than we think?

I just keep hoping that by miracle that there is a young star that has a burning desire to play 2nd fiddle to lebron and compete for chips, that sees an opporunity now and asks for trade to cavs.

Giannis, booker, simmons, wiggins..any of those woule be great

Look at Kyrie's resume. Look at Fox's resume. Typing out a maniacal laugh at Cavs fans expense is a shitty look. Goodnight, new guy.

It has nothing to do with resumes. It has to do with reality. Look what Cousins, Butler, George brought back in trades? Now all the sudden people think you are getting an all-star (future hall of famer possibly), a high-end/boarderline All-star PG (in the east I think he is a AS) in Bledsoe plus 4 picks because the Knicks just want to unload Carmelo that bad (who apparently has no desire to come here now anyways before the Irving news and double down apparently after. It's Rockets or bust it sounds like for the Knicks).

So yeah getting a kid of Fox talent (apparently), plus likely a pick and another piece or two like Koufos and say WCS. That is not a bad starting point at all. Fox is going to be a major player in this league and the Cavs have to start thinking about how To get younger and get more controllable players going forward on friendly deals. Because if Lebron leaves, all they have left are overpaid players like Shump, JR and TT (and maybe Love). Three of which are players that got way overpaid, had very few options on the table but LeBron in the case of two of them basically lobbied for the Cavs to pay them more than they were worth. No one wants Shump, JR or TT contracts in a market where Otto Porter is getting max offers. Think about that for a second?

Where the fuck are you guys getting this Carmelo doesn't want to play in Cleveland shit?

And you better have a better link than Frank Isola, who has totally proven himself clueless on all things Carmelo and Clevela d for three years running

I just listened to a Denver podcast with Adam Mares. He was of course coming from the Denver side and needless to say thought Kyrie to Denver would be great as long as they don't drain the roster of all of their youth. He went over too many trades for me to mention, but one in general I warmed up to. He claims Phoenix is on a total youth movement and prefers building toward the future. (and would like to rid the team of 30 & over)
This is a 3 team trade.

CLE - Bledsoe Faried Harris and Chandler ( just nervous about Harris only for one year - could take Murray) This would be a good combination of youth & veterans to add.

DENVER - Irving Shumpert TJWarren - they are somewhat thin at SF, hence Warren. It would be up to them to resign him. (on last yr of contract)

PHOENIX - Mudiay Murray Frye - they have been interested in the expiring contract of Frye. Two young guards both under contract for 2 and 3 years.

He could not praise Harris enough.

Long time Bron fan here, I had to sign up after reading all your guy's trade scenarios

1. You guys are absoulelty nuts to think Bucks are would trade Giannis, like absolutey crazy. You can't be more delusional. Giannis is the absolute pinnicle of untouchable. He is as untouchable as to what Lebron was in his first 7 years here. Just stop with your dreaming.

2.Why in gods name are people bringing Melo's name into this? HE HAS A NO TRADE CLAUS, he also mentioned he would only waive it to go to Houston, and he still wants to go there. He won't waive it to play with this disfunctional mess Dan Gilbert made.

3. Kyrie won't reel in equal value, that's just not going to happen.

How long until Kyrie actually publicly speaks about this? Kind of surprised no one’s hounded him yet, even in Asia.

Link, new guy. If you're gonna come in all hot and bothered you better come prepared.
