The Facelift

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Glen -

I understand that its important to stay current with the latest flash, java and software, Heck I dont know if you remember but a few years back I proposed for you to switch the skin to something more "up to date"

Truth is, that was stupid of me.

Now I'm not saying your stupid for changing the skin and general lay out etc etc, I'm just saying that I understand the importance of being on the inside looking out then the outside looking in, but honestly -- this forum now looks like every other forum out there.

I really didn't see many problems with the old lay out, I thought it was really easy to navigate, and had a really old school feel to it, not an outdated old school, just retro a bit, different from the general lookof every forum out there.

Thanks.

Show me a forum that looks like this one.

I haven't been a member here for long, and haven't posted much because I've have problem after problem trying to login. Many times I would be "locked" out of the site claiming I need to log in properly, even though I did. With that said, ever since the upgrade to the site, I have experienced no problems. I can log in and read posts just fine. I might just have to post more now. Thanks.

When the board s/w acts up, the first thing to try is to clear out your cookies.

Things were breaking down around us. The old software couldn't handle the influx of posters. Every portion of the website had some major flaw from the Arcade to user Registration.

I'm glad Glen invested his time and MONEY into this new software and skin. We won't have to keep patching holes on a sinking ship.

I like the addition of the blue in the header but I wish we'd see more of it. I'm not a fan of the boxed in status, join date, posts, etc. IMO I think the board looked better not as wide.

PS. I don't think it's absolutely necessary to change the style to web 2.0 to match those of other sites. We just need various color schemes so things don't burn out over time. I.E. a blue style version of the previous one you had here would have looked fantastic.

Who the hell cares about if it burns out or not. I care about what I am reading from posters on the site, not how it looks. As long as the colors aren't dark, I'm good. I hate black forums with white text...It's best to keep it simple and not try to make it fancy. I have owned Vbulletin software in the past and to not upgrade when their is increased stability and functionality would be ridiculous. My only gripe would be the width but shit, I can get used to that.

Is it just me, or is it not finished just yet ??

On the top left by the options, the whole thing is white for me, and I can't see them unless I highlight them.. :chuckles:

Looks great on my 24". The old one was so cramped.

Wow, what browser are you using? This skin has been tested in the latest FF and IE.

Should look like this

Maybe I do dip wad .

I'm a vbulletin owner for over 6 years tough guy ;).

I have no problem with the upgrades. I just don't particularly like the style that's all. No offense to Glen though because I appreciate your hard work here.

Glen, if you could take care of this one small glitch for me. It not a bad idea but I just think you are taking it a bit too far..
