It is the Waiver wire deadline basically a team waves a player I think three days they can be traded if not then after the three days then any team can claim them for nothing basically. If I am wrong some please point it out. I am sure how how they money works in any of this.

He is having a bounce back year and looks closer to the former MVP Bruce then the hurt slumping Bruce. I think he is in a mini slump at the time though.

Getting Jay Bruce for a 30th round draft pick is something that makes completed and utter sense with Chisenhall and Brantley hurt. Now for the playoffs it will be hard to say who we have out there but right now we need some reinforcements.
How long are those two expected to be out?

No thanks. His contract is absolutely brutal. I don't want to pay a 37 year old Verlander $22M in 2020, let alone a 36 year old Verlander $28M in 2019.

I think it depends really but imagine having EE and Bruce for the WS with no DH. This for sure helps match ups and will give pitchers nightmares of EE and Bruce get hot. Zimmer and A jax with be used very little I can see Zimmer for defense and AJax for a clutch PH at bat. The Guyer can get hit by a few pitches to get players in scoring position so we are all set lets just get the pitching healthy.

It does make perfect sense, which is why I believe we coughed up the $5M to pay the salary, while the Yankees decided to go cheap at the wrong time - probably not expecting the Indians to pay the price.
Speaking of Lonnie and Brantley, what's going on with Lonnie? Thought he was only out for about 10 or so days.
Really hope Brantley is OK. If he's out a week or two, no biggie.. But any longer will concern me because they need him.
The Justin Verlander "noise" isn't much. I personally haven't seen the Tribe connected to him and whatnot. Just that he cleared waivers today and Detroit is obviously willing to deal and rid themselves of the rest of his deal.
I'm all for it of it makes sense and the price tag isn't something stupid. But, I'm not to dialed in to the farm system we have. I know the top 5 or so guys rather well, but outside of that.. Google is my friend. [emoji1]
