The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Those 100 yard, heavy duty metal chains the walkers have been carrying around for years were finally put to good use.

Question for book readers as I am only on Book 2: is the "kill the one who turned them, they all die" coming from show writers or was this in the books?

Yea, we're so far beyond the books in terms of white walker lore I have no earthly idea.

We haven't even seen a leader yet, only stories of ancient figures and such. We've seen exactly one Walker killed, and it was by Sam, and he was alone. Jon didn't go to Hardhome in the books, it happened out of sight and you learn about it through survivor tales. And that's the extent of it.

THanks George, maybe take another 3 or 4 years brother!

The Tyrells are the real villains of the entire saga. Without their manipulation of Renly, and then their aid to the Lannisters, the war would have ended quickly.

Right? And tell me that's not a Deus Ex Machina.

They have to actually convince their bannerman they have a cause worth going to war over. It can't be "Answer our call to war, so Margaery can be Queen!"

They had to sell them on the idea that Joffrey was a bastard and not the rightful heir to the Throne.

So to then just flip 180 in the span of like, a day, to the Lannisters.....

But no one complains about that. Only when it's a nick of time save for the crowd favorites is it bad writing.

Question:

Can Bran warg into...... whites? Or more specifically a White Dragon? Is this at all possible/plausible?

I suppose in some ways they are controlled by the night king or walkers so in theory it might be a similar skill and therefore possible

There were always going to be a handful of characters that were heroes that weren't going to die, at least not till the end.

At the start, there were enough of them that when he started killing them off you though "wow, anyone can die." And when Ned dies and Robb dies, it seems that way.

But Jon isn't dying. Daenerys isn't dying. Not until the very, very end. You have to have some characters to root for, after all.

I really thought Rhaegal was going to fly out from under the ice with Jon on his back but apparently Jon is just an excellent aquatic swordsmen.

Wow did I get depressed after he nailed that Dragon. Never thought I would have such feelings towards an animated predator.
Have no idea how Dani keeps losing sight of the most dangerous enemies.. he was damn sleep walking towards them.

Is Dragon fire capable of killing the night king ? and wtf are they going to do against the Dragon Walker for gods sakes.

Do you think John died in the water and was revived once again?

God damnit the Dragons are the real MVP.

Finally, the Night King spoke:

I'm of the opinion they're immune to fire.

You get a good look in The Door episode last year. They protect the cave with that ring of fire, the Walkers walk right up to it and it goes away, and immediately reignites after they get past, preventing the wights from getting through.

Same thing happened when he walked up to the fire last night.

Dragon fire is different than normal fire, though. I'd have to imagine dragon fire would destroy them.

Well, if i learned anything last night its that the White Walkers are scared of water.

Who knew all it takes to end The Great War is the trusty ole moat?

I don't know if they are. The Wights can't swim.

The Walkers are very "let all the pawns do the fighting, we'll go in when we're needed." It's kinda refreshing because generally the big bads just rush in and put themselves in danger. These guys don't need to do that. THey've got an endless supply of fodder.
