So are you saying that you can keep about 75% of your gains permanently?

And, isn't the purpose of steroids to break the genetic plateau?
Permanent is forever. If you follow post cycle therapy, you'll keep like 70% of your gains if you keep training. When you stop or start slacking..

And if you slack and then get back to it, muscle. Memory will get some back. But that depends on how much of your gains were past your body's natural ability/limits and how much was just you going from normal you to in shape you.

If im born to be a 5'10 170 pounder and get to 190, I may juice to get to 210 (or to compete, and I want a quick boost). If I go off, I'm not getting those 20 pounds back, I reached my limit at 190.

People use shit for all sorts of reasons. It took me like a year to say "fuck it I'm staying on".

The pendulum is swinging the other way for me right now. I've been on a kick of all free weights, unilateral movements, and lots of stretching, not realizing how much size I had lost. I was squatting and felt really hamstring and glute dominant, so I started let pressing again. I felt like Tom Platz in about a month. Must've gained a few inches on my legs. I started doing other machines and noticed that, when you take away the balancing and stabilizing part, it can sometimes allow your big movers to really shine and actually get fully fatigued and get hit in just the right way. Now I'd say that most people probably use machines too much and could use free weights a lot more to become more stable and mobile, but, for me, it's just what I need right now. I've done my dues and am mobile and stable. Trying to pull 540 in the near future.

Congrats dude on the mobility and the stretching, if your squat is mainly hitting your posterior chain it means you have excellent technique, very few ever figure that out.

I agree with the general public use of machines, gyms force the average joe to them to prevent injury's from training and to avoid have to educate everyone in how to lift properly but all it does is destroy the tensegrity within them an increase their chance on injury in the long run. Moving between all styles always seem like a good idea

I've taken mobility and stability work seriously for just about two years now. You shouldn't be shaking under a weight. If you are, you are probably unstable. I am 6'2", 260 lbs, and I can do the Functional Movement Screen overhead squat. Basically it is a functional pattern that reveals any inefficiencies as well as compensation patterns. It's a below parallel squat, feet perfectly forward and not turned out at all, no rounding of the lower back or butt wink, no valgus knee collapse (knees over feet), and you must hold a bar over your head with a grip no wider than elbow to elbow. I can also do the half wheel yoga pose. Pretty proud of that.

Btw, the overhead squat is an excellent warm up exercise. Bullet proof your shoulders, gains in mobility in both upper and lower body.

If I lift will I fuck up the healing process for my shoulder

Weight is juts falling off.

But I hit a wall today. I am so fucking tired. Like not ok tired. I just loaded up on a breakfast burrito and I feel a little better.. But is this typical? Is this why you carb load?

Carbs are the preferred respiratory substrate and there has been evidence that carbon restricting too much alters mood and energy levels

Bur carbon loading for endurance is different this is about increasing the glycogen (a starch like thing) stores in your muscles to ensure you don't need to move onto secondary respiratory pathways during the 5 hours etc of exercise. Carb loading is a huge amount of Carbs

I have no other immediate solutions to the issue of extreme exhaustion. What do you think?

Yeah at this point I'm eating a crisp sandwich so I'm a big fan of Carbs. They are brain food. Get loading

Ive dropped 4 lbs in a week man, I literally look entirely different almost overnight. Tough to stop. But I drove over the sidewalk to get to my parking spot last night

Yeah probably best to drop weight and not die or commit involuntary manslaughter dude

So I've dropped fifty pounds since last October. At first, I did it via just portion control, but as time went on I added exercise (mainly playing basketball and lifting weights).

I am not supposed to use the treadmill because my diseases make it so I don't feel my feet, wear leg braces, and break bones extraordinarily easy. But, I was stubborn and tried it for a few weeks. I ended up fracturing my third and fourth metatarsal in my right foot, and now I can't do any cardio or lower body lifting.

My question is, if I can't stand for too long, can't do cardio involving my lower body, is there a system where I can continue to do upper body with weight machines and free weights and continue to build muscle?

There are machines where you sit down and spin pedals, like a bike pedal for your arms.

Hard to find at a gym. But that and swimming

Do you know how expensive one would be to purchase?
