LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You can't envision a lineup that looks something like LBJ-Korver-JR-Crowder-Green? Everyone 6'6" - 6'9"?

I'm not saying he's going to be out there guarding true centers or anything like that, but I can see some lineups where LeBron and Green are the 4/5 defensively. Obviously Love makes more sense than Green in that lineup, but it's possible we experiment with a lineup like that.

He has never been a rim protector or a good defender ,whether be inside the paint or on the perimeter so I fail to see the positives in such lineup.
I don't have a problem with going small, but when you do that you have to either put atleast an above average defender at the last line of defense, or compensate by having an elite 3pt shooter at the 5 and he is neither of those things.

I love Lebron at PG. But if you want to really take advantage of it, you have to make sure the other team doesn't come off easily and put their PG on our SG/SF.
If we go big at PG, we need to also go big at at the SG/SF spots, not only that but we need them to take advantage and create against the mismatch.

Imagine a lineup with Lebron at the 1, PG13 at the 2 and Melo(yes Melo) at the 3... you just force the other team to take their PG out of the fucking game.. each and every one of these playerrs will take advantage of the mismatch either in the post or other way.

I was pretty much against bringing in Melo for the price that was expected, but if we can get him for really cheap and not give up Osman, then it's a no brainer.

a lineup of Lebron, Wade, Melo, Crowder, Love should be a killer. You have two ball handlers, 4 capable post players, good spacing and a lineup that can take advantage of GSW's defense and even perhaps be decent enough on defense.

Don't get me wrong, this lineup can fall flat on it's face against the Warriors.. we have no quickness on the perimeter, lineup is fairly past it's prime and not overly athletic, but it could also be pretty special.

Why? The chances of getting both PG13 and Melo on the Cavs hover slightly above 0%, so it makes no sense to envision such a lineup.

Meh, if we traded Kyrie for PG13 and traded for Melo using Shumpert, Frye and other grabage it would have been possible.

Doesn't matter though, but even PG at the 2 and Lebron at the 1 would cause problems for the Warriors.

Not a fan of Melo like you Honey, but I can still find him very useful in different lineups.

But how can you argue about the possibility of something predicated on impossible circumstances? You may as well speculate how fun it'd be watching LeBron, Jordan and Pippen handle the Warriors on the perimeter based on time traveling.

Just sayin' brosefalujus, no sense in analyzing matchups that have no sense of occurring.

Right. Was trying to give an example of a big lineup that is able to take advantage of it's size and punish mismatches.
I did say Imagine.

I believe we can find a worse, but effective alternative this season.. I believe we need to go big at the 1,2 and 3 positions to be the most dangerous on both sides of the floor.

I mean there is no lineup that has a small ball 5 that's all that great at protecting the rim.

Green is at least quick enough to defend a few different positions, which is exactly what such a lineup would be predicated on defensively, the ability to have all of the players switch basically every pick and roll action.

Green is no gem offensively but he's certainly capable enough there to take advantage of mismatches, whether it be a true 5 trying to stay in front of him, or a smaller guy trying to guard him in the paint.

Against the elite teams/lineups that lineup doesn't work, but I think it would be quite effective against most teams.

Look at how much taller Jeff Green is over Crowder.

Imagine if he could just play solid defense and shoot a decent % at 3.

LeBron, Crowder, Green could be a versatile trio if that was the case.

He definitely has length to him and perhaps playing for Lebron will bring ou things that we have yet to see out of him.

A lineup with Lebron at the 5 (if he is willing) and Green at the 4 sounds a bit better to me in terms of help defense and rim protection.. a good defensive 5 sees everything in advance , has time to orchestrate the defense accordingly and Lebron is one of the best at that. He knows the top teams offensive sets and how to counter them.

On Paper, he should be capapble, but according to his playing history he hasn't showing willingness to defend at a high level.

Yes I what thinking the same thing. I don't want to see Edy go. The size of this guy is ridiculous
Locks

LeBron
IT
Love
TT
Crowder
Korver
Rose
JR
Cedi
Frye
Zizic
RJ
Green
Shump

Last spot will come down to either Felder, Edy or Jose

Perk is just a camp body to rough up Zizic and Edy see about their toughness.

I'd hate to give Jose a spot just because he's the vet. However, it will be an interesting competition.
