Hey, I agree with you. I'm just telling you what Hamilton said today. Maybe he was going off what Tito said on Tuesday, I don't know.
Hamilton said the ideal scenario would be for Salazar to pitch well today, have his arm feel good tomorrow, then get another start before the end of the year. Then if he pitched well in that (and presumably went deeper into the game), they'd look for him to be the 4th starter in the playoffs.
Now I have no idea if today's start was good enough or if he'll pitch again in the regular season or anything else, but the way I interpreted it was IF the Indians are going to use one of Clevinger-Salazar-Tomlin trio out of the bullpen in the playoffs, they're most comfortable with it being Clevinger.
In my opinion, it sounds like it's a "4th starter or off the ALDS roster" scenario for Salazar.
