There's no trick to it at all. You are believing your own bs.

You make a conclusion and then support it with evidence, just like you do when a client pays you to formulate bs to support their cause in a court case. You ignore substantive points and go on to make whatever arguments support your cause.

I know exactly how your schtick works. You don't need to explain it to me.

Ravens matrices tests pattern recognition, just as example.

Have you seen or taken an iq test? Mine was "remember the string of digits, now backwards, find the pattern, flip the object mentally, and discern which number isn't a repeat".

That's what mine was like too. I was 13 so I don't remember specific questions, but from what I remember it didn't test learned knowledge. The damn thing lasted forever it felt like.

Right, they test cognitive ability. It's why it's cross cultural and can give it to young people.

SAT on the other hand is supposed to test crystal and fluid intelligence.. intellect and industriousness. The idea is the quicker you learn and more interested and hard working you are better you'll perform.

First, where is your evidence of that causative link? You seem to take as a give that there is this consistent historical record, and there isn't. You can look at all sorts of data and actually see black people doing better 75 years ago in many respects than they are today. In other words, there was slavery, then a pretty consistent pattern of improvement in many areas, then a much later turn downward. That does not support slavery or discrimination (which again has generally lessened over time) as the cause of the downturn.

Second, to the extent black people have created this stigma that "acting white" is bad, academic achievement is not good, success is difficult or impossible in "white" society because of discrimination, and have developed concepts such as CPT, how exactly do you go about undoing/fixing that?

You don't have to teach POC kids that life isn't fair, and that discrimination exists. They learn that on their own before they can even pronounce the word "discrimination."

There are tons of young black kids who have little or no contact with white people at all, and so no points of comparison to even know if they are being discriminated against.

Yeah that makes sense. Iq is important, you aren't going to see many 80 iq doctors, but you need to have a strong work ethic too. Without one the high iq would probably go to waste.

"Cognitive ability" is a broad thing though, and tests like Raven's matrices test very specific kinds of intelligence. People with Aspergers, for instance, score higher on average than the rest of the population on Raven's matrix test. But when it comes to social intelligence, the same people lag far behind.

How'd we get here from Trump scandals again? :chuckle:

Everybody is championing Eminem for calling trump a racist without proof. I guess saying he's an egomaniac, petty, and vindictive wouldn't be as strong coming from a guy likely with many of the same qualities. This is incredible though. Much like the LGBT community going after people talking about radical Islam after a radical shot up a gay club.

Right, iq gives you a limit.. I think with 130 there's isn't really anything you couldn't do should you find interest in it and be hard working, but thats the other part of it.

You can have a high iq and drive buses. You can have a low iq and drive buses. You can't have an iq and design rocketships.

I would guess that sat is more highly correlated with success than iq because it does inherently account for work ethic

I read an article about that the other day. I think in the coming years it's going to be hard for the Left to rationalize support for both the LGBT community and Islam.

Social intelligence is more temperamental. I think within empathy (ability to put yourself in someone else's position) which is half of agreeableness

All of these tests are incredibly highly correlated. If you do well on spatial recognition you're likely gonna do well on working memory . You might do better on one or the other but you're gonna do well on both unless you're an outlier or have some sufficiently atypical circumstance
