What has been said before is that the fact the people protesting and want Wahoo gone are white folk and not native Americans who majority like it or are neutral towards it. So if it is racist the people it is supposed to be racist towards actually don't care lol

The counter is Americans are still involved and they have a say in how they feel about it.

But, they should be listening to the affected minority. It's a little ironic

I think the only solution to burying the curse is to make chief wahoo even MORE racist than it has ever been. If you can't get rid of the thing, then take it over the limit.

The younger generation doesn't see it racist anymore since to many people Native Americans and/or Indians mean warriors and I think a lot of Native Americans see that of teams with native American style of names and are looking past the origins.

What data are you basing this on? Most that have issue here are under thirty. The older you get the more republican you become. Millennials are largely left much moreso than the previous generation

I know young Tribe fans that are over Wahoo. I'm not old and I want him gone. Most people outside of Cleveland my age agree (anecdotal, I'm sure there are conservatives that want to keep it and ambivalent people who don't care).

This is coming from someone in New York, but I usually avoid saying the actual team name to avoid reactions from people. I wear my C cap but don't wear much Wahoo stuff. This isn't just a middle age white Democrat issue, you're pulling that out of your ass.

I'm over the bickering, yes I want an entire new brand, no Wahoo, no Indians. Team could use a re-brand, maybe the Cleveland Chokers for good measure.

But I still say fuck those people that protest just to protest, so they can win at something, then talk shit and kick dirt after.

You know Wahoo still sells extremely well right? And that the Native Americans who are supposed to be the ones offended aren't offended by the logo and a good majority actually like the name and logos used by teams? You can find articles on both that support it. Sells on Indians stuff will actually drop if you get rid of Wahoo since there is bunch of people who actually refuse to buy stuff if Wahoo isn't on it.

Also use the logo to help Native americas with a certain percentage of sales goes to them. Or redesign Wahoo in a way that isn't racist. Let the Native people vote to keep it or not rather than let the white folk keep dictating things

Guardians would be my choice, if they have to change the name as well. Don't necessarily love the name itself, but could make for a really cool logo and has an "iconic" Cleveland connection with the Hope Memorial Bridge guardians.

Cleveland .125’ers. in honor of this years playoff hitting performance.

Which Native people would vote? Does Ohio even have a reservation? I'm not against your potential solutions here but you're also basically admitting that there is a problem when you were just arguing that it wasn't a problem.

White people decided to co-opt a race as a mascot. Native Americans have raised issues with it for decades. Now you're saying they like it and we should let them decide but I'm not really convinced. Anyway, we won't agree on Wahoo and these various arguments, I just want to make clear that your statement about age, claiming that young people don't have a problem with Wahoo, is demonstrably false. In fact it's kind of insane to that the younger generation is simultaneously a group of easily offended pussies AND completely fine with a racist caricature.
