Welcome 8th Pick from Brooklyn

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Meaningless poll, but lets play....where will the pick end up after the lottery?

Credit Ainge.

The Nets are in the same division. He knows they have good coaching and upgraded the roster.

Now they still could be top 5 bad. But we're going to be sweating it out hoping we get the top pick or so. Which frankly kills some of the value of the trade if we can't get an instant impact player.

Think missing out on Ben Simmons or Karl Towns. Lakers got Ingram and Russell...yeesh.

Cavs will probably need some lottery luck to get into the top 3. Nets style of play will catch teams off guard, and they're actually more talented than many here want to admit.

That said, the goal was always to win a championship, so any pick in the top 10 should probably be considered a win.
Here's the thing. If we're not getting a top 3 pick then wouldn't we be better off with Jaylen Brown or Tatum?

Right now we could be having an impact player with the chance to get even better. Brown makes it so we're not relying on Jeff Green to be our athletic forward off the bench. Tatum has the shooting and rebounding needed to help a team that needs both.

We better get one of the 5 best players in the draft or Ainge won the deal.

DeMarre Carroll being a useful player again is pissing me off.

I’m sure Ainge did that calculus and is probably why he wouldn’t give up Tatum or Brown and gave up the Nets pick unprotected instead.

We do need them to start losing sooner rather than later though to keep the “perceived” value of the pick high.

Maybe Brown and Tatum were dealbreakers? And who cares if Ainge "won" the deal?

Yeah it’s quite an assumption to assume that Brown or Tatum were ever even on the table for the Celtics.

This could be a year where the third worst team could win 26-28 games. And that could be Brooklyn.

Every year, a few teams start out winning a couple more games than expected and then revert to their actual talent level. That could also be Brooklyn.

We've got weeks before we have a true first read on the lottery pecking order.

Hard to imagine anyone can out tank the Suns and Bulls though.

Maybe I'm crazy (and it's a bit hard to tell until games are being played), but it seems like there are 5 high level players available in this draft between porter, bagley, ayton, bamba, and doncic. Obviously it would be great to get the #1 and have our pick of the litter, but I don't think this is as bad of a situation as with recent drafts where you were screwed if you didn't get a top 2 pick.

For who?

Who is on your list of players likely to be available that you'd trade that pick for?

For example I'd love Bledsoe or Thad Young but no way in hell am I trading the Nets pick for either.

So besides Cousins, who's on your list?

It's looking like a late first rounder. Best to move on
