Both LeBron and Love need to challenge shots more. Outside of Ed Malloy the refs don't call that many fouls on LeBron so he needs to challenge shots more. It makes it easier to keep Love at the 5 when LeBron tries to protect the rim.

I'm extremely pleased Love played well tonight. Every game he plays like this makes his trade value go higher. Keep it up, Kevin. You might actually net us a star later this season! :waytogo1:
I'm not concerned about Love being traded as I think there are other bodies that should go before him..
But he balled out and played some D.

Biggest difference was Kevin being active banging the offensive glass. He is a better player when he plays inside out and is looking to be aggressive.

He can't bang the offensive glass effectively if he is being kept out by the 3 point line to space the floor. If we want him to play like a big man, then we have to play him as if he is a big man.

I will say he did benefit with not having to guard an offensive minded 5. More of the same against Capella on Thursday. It saved his energy on the offensive end.

Bingo

He lacks stamina to focus on both ends... it's very similar to LeBron's current situation

Kevin Love is not a ballhandler, which means he is utterly dependent upon other players for his touches. It's the reason why we he often didn't produce as we might have hoped while playing with two primary ballhandlers who also happen to be two of the best IS players in the league. Simply put, LBJ and KI often didn't want him around the basket because it clogged up their opportunities to score.

I am looking forward to how this team plays when IT returns to the court. He's coming to this team as a well-established, All-Star PG -- LBJ joined this team while KI was still finding his way, and so easily assumed the role of "I can be the primary ball handler any time I want." But the relationship between IT and LBJ will be different -- less of a "son" thing going on....:chuckle:

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if the frequency with which LBJ assumes the role of primary ballhandler will drop (compared to when he's on the court with Rose or how he was with KI) when IT is on the floor. If IT maintains control of the ball more, that will result in LBJ playing off-ball more, and may result in the rest of the offense looking different as well. If so, Love is likely to be a major beneficiary of that.

Actually, the entire team would benefit from that, including LBJ.

Too slow to guard the perimeter and too small to guard the paint

Meh Love is just fine at power forward, but we can’t play him there because we don’t have any real traditional centers on the roster, besides Zizic who Lue refuses to play.

He's a PF guys. Lue just refuse to play him there and put Zizic next to him.
Its not that.

Its that LeBron is even more dominant at PF.

However, since Crowder is having such a difficult transition on this team maybe he needs to come off the bench instead. Maybe he's one of those guys that is better off backing up LeBron instead of playing with him.

Right now seeing what Zizic is as a starter > what Crowder's doing right now.

I'm okay with whatever it's needed to get these young guys in there. But Lue seems to hate these younger guys. Seems like he's ready to get fired over this.

If the Cavs traded for Crowder to play exclusively at PF. its really gonna be a long season.

If your gonna play Love at Center. they need to do what they did against Milwaukee and have him attack the basket ( no three point attempts in that game) with Love only rolling out when Lebron or another big Post up.

Start with the fundamentals and expand. The Cavs seem to be going about everything ad hoc and getting no consistency.

His lack of consistency and toughness is why he needs to go. Just too unreliable. That's a 'him' thing
