So. Are we still trading him for a bag of sweaty jock straps?

Would love to see that aggression and intensity out of him every game, but I just wonder how sustainable it is with his tendency to get banged up.

If Love can play with that aggression tonight.. I think it’s fair to expect it MOST nights. I am giddy that he did that with no 3 point makes. That is who we thought we were getting 3.5 years ago. Please build on this.

In case anyone missed it...Love actually set a good screen for Lebron near the end of the game (bucks player got called for trying to fight over it)

Praise everything good and holy!

The more I watch Love without Tristan on the court the more I think Tristan should never be on the court with Love

Love is just so much better at Tristan's role as an offensive rebounder than TT is but with the added benefit of not being garbage at literally all other facets of offense

But while TT is in we just post Love at the 3 point line and have Tristan take the role of cleaning the glass and moving around which I really am not even convinced he is better at rather than he just gets significantly more opportunities

I've long been a TT fan. But he and Love is just a mismatch that hurts Love's game and renders him to a spot up shooter. The Love we saw tonight is so much better than floor spacer Love

There’s a lot of truth to this and we’ve seen crazy numbers with Love at the 5 last year, but the numbers suggest TT and Love played really well together.

+8.6 per 100 in 2017 (TT’s highest combo with anyone other than Liggins) and +8.7 in the playoffs.

+12 per 100 in 2016, TT’s highest combo with anyone other than LBJ, +14.2 in the playoffs.

+8.6 per 100 in 2015.

This is over thousands of minutes so it’s there.

I'm extremely pleased Love played well tonight. Every game he plays like this makes his trade value go higher. Keep it up, Kevin. You might actually net us a star later this season! :waytogo1:

Its just one game... but his defense still suck big time!

That's your takeaway from his game tonight?

Points given up in the paint has so much more to do with just an individual big mans interior presence.

Especially with the way 80% of NBA teams now move bodies around like only the Warriors, Spurs, and Hawks were doing in 2014

Biggest difference was Kevin being active banging the offensive glass. He is a better player when he plays inside out and is looking to be aggressive.

Would love to see him dunk the ball rather than missing so many layups...

I’m glad we win and I’m happy for Love and I’m hope he continues like this, but 118p in our home is too much!

That was less about what we did and more about Love's mindset. He wanted the ball. He wanted to be aggressive. He needs to be like this every game. It also causes the team to go to him more.

I will say he did benefit with not having to guard an offensive minded 5. More of the same against Capella on Thursday. It saved his energy on the offensive end.

Kevin Love's defensive skill, or lack thereof, has not diminished this year. Almost everyone logging significant minutes on this team has had a career low defensive rating to start this season, so it seems to be a system problem with a little misplaced effort sprinkled on top. If we trade Love based on this, it's a mistake.

If we trade him based on his performance against GS in the finals, I wouldn't like it, but I would understand. However, I think Love brought more to those finals games than just stats, but I'm sure I'm in the minority on that view. I seem to give more value to intangibles than they are worth.

If we do trade him, is Boogie or another big man is the answer, or will he fall victim to small ball?

Does Paul George have the intangibles to help the team, or is he just a stat man?

What was unusual is that I looked at the boxscore after the 3q and I saw he was 9/11 and hadn't attempted a single 3 pointer. Not sure if that was the gameplan for this one game, or how they want to try to use him going forward. I don't know what they are doing with him but they better figure something out or trade him. I liked his game last night.

One thing that I found odd is when the game ended he had this sour look on his face for about 2 minutes after it ended. Not sure what that was all about.

The few games a year where Love sacrifices his body and plays with an aggressive mentality. Appreciate this version of Love more than the 7-8 barrage from the 3 point line which then leads to a 2-15 disappearance act. He actually "officially" didn't take any threes (fouled while attempting it but was on the floor). Until he is on this team, he needs to play like he is the best player in the world and not some scrub hoping to fit in wherever he can. I must miss his makes but I can't remember the last mid-range jumper he made. Hopefully he gets that part going so he can be deadly in the two man game with LeBron or IT when he comes back.
