It doesn't. If they want teams to earn their way in, Ohio State has done much more than Alabama. If they want the four best teams, well, Alabama is better than Ohio State.
I don't disagree with this on its face. Bama prob is a better team, I just don't know how you quantify that. They looked like ass against Auburn.
Truly, the best, and fairest way to judge them is their resume....
I like our resume against Bama's.
I will say, I think the committee is going to go Bama and point to the FSU win. They will say Bama beat a top 3 team, that would've remained a top 10-15 team had they not lost their QB (Francois).
But a lot of the "deck-stacking" they did for Bama last weekend was completely undone today. Boise win was huge, Oklahoma dominating was nice, Auburn getting trucked was awesome....
I will say....one thing that potentially hurts us, is Army is a borderline top 25 team if they beat Navy next weekend. It kind of sucks, in such a close contest against Bama, that we might miss out on what would be seen as another quality win. Army is 8-3 looking to get to 9-3. If they beat Navy, that'd have to be taken into consideration IMO.
Anyways, I'm thinking Bama sneaks in. Just the pessimistic side of me....
