The 2017 B1G Championship | #8 Ohio State vs. #4 Wisconsin | December 2nd, 2017 @ 8 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They did last year when they left Penn State.

They will this year. I hope they do. Clemson looks to be on another level compared to everyone else since getting Bryant back. Would rather play USC than roll into that game.

But OSU got in from what was seen as best conference last year. This year they'd be leaving the entire conference out which is a massive difference.

I thought Meyer answered Klatt's question perfectly.....it wasn't 2 top 10 wins, "it was two top 4 wins". Nice touch.....

Last year is not this year.

Anyone have access to Nevadabuck's prediction? I quit my subscription years ago, but that guy had the goods....

Honestly, I'm not looking forward to getting skull-fucked by Clemson once again.

I don't think they put us in anyway.

OSU got in last year because they beat 3 top 10 teams, including the Big 12 champ, 2 of which were on the road.

I'll wait for someone who keeps saying "they did it last year" with regards to keeping out a 2-loss conference champ this year for a 1 loss non-conference champ when they tell me how Bama's resume THIS YEAR matches OSUs resume last year.

I'll be waiting until next season, because Bama's resume this year is, as Tate Martell would say, "ass, my dude".

It doesn't. If they want teams to earn their way in, Ohio State has done much more than Alabama. If they want the four best teams, well, Alabama is better than Ohio State.

I think Clemson plays a style that suits us better this year. Bryant is a nice QB, but he's not nearly the passer Watson is. I love our defensive line going against Clemson's style of play. Clemson doesn't run a lot of misdirection which is where we struggle and they don't leave much mystery in terms of what they wanna execute.

I think we'd be very competitive against them....I can almost guarantee it wouldn't be a "skull fucking".

You're only thinking about one side of the ball. I sure as hell don't trust JT Barrett and the passing game against that defense.

Hell, our defense last year was probably better than this year's

Not disagreeing with that.

But Bama lost their only chance where they could have shown they were better than Ohio State.

Everything else is just something you can't prove...opinion.

I don't disagree with this on its face. Bama prob is a better team, I just don't know how you quantify that. They looked like ass against Auburn.

Truly, the best, and fairest way to judge them is their resume....

I like our resume against Bama's.

I will say, I think the committee is going to go Bama and point to the FSU win. They will say Bama beat a top 3 team, that would've remained a top 10-15 team had they not lost their QB (Francois).

But a lot of the "deck-stacking" they did for Bama last weekend was completely undone today. Boise win was huge, Oklahoma dominating was nice, Auburn getting trucked was awesome....

I will say....one thing that potentially hurts us, is Army is a borderline top 25 team if they beat Navy next weekend. It kind of sucks, in such a close contest against Bama, that we might miss out on what would be seen as another quality win. Army is 8-3 looking to get to 9-3. If they beat Navy, that'd have to be taken into consideration IMO.

Anyways, I'm thinking Bama sneaks in. Just the pessimistic side of me....

The human element will recognize Bama as Bama and Ohio State getting slaughtered last year to the same expected match up. Yes, it's a different year, but I think there are biases that will linger.

Ohio State carries 3 wins better than anything Bama offers and a conference title. Bama carries one less defeat and the legacy of being the current king of the decade.

I think a valid point could be made about not holding the OU loss against OSU because they are going to be in the playoffs, but that dreadful Iowa showing is very difficult to excuse.

I think the committee will see Bama as a safer choice.

That logic is so flawed it's unbelievable. If that's their reasoning for putting Bama in then I say bring back the BCS.

Yeah...it'd be a tough pill to swallow but theoretically, imagine us beating Oklahoma this year, injuring Mayfield to the point he s done for the year, and then Oklahoma sucks the rest of the year.

A legit out of conference match-up against a good team, is undone by injury to the QB. If we are being fair, FSU is at least top 25 with Francois......so the 6-6 FSU squad is really a terrible break for them.
