2017-18 Cleveland Indians Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Indians do not need to sign anyone. My guess is they sign a bullpen arm and wait to see if they can get a LoMo or Adams on a cheap deal.

SS Lindor
LF Kipnis
2nd Jose
DH Edwin
1st Brantley
CF Zimmer
3rd Yandy
RF Lonnie
C Perez

Bench; Gomes, Guyer, Jackson, and FA

SP: Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Salazar, Tomlin
Bullpen: Allen, Miller, Otero, Goody, Olson, Clevinger, FA

Best team in the central by far and if Kluber and Carrasco are healthy, they can beat any team.
They should bring back Jackson. He should have already been re-signed for 4th OFer.
That lineup isn't going to scare anyone...we need an upgrade in my opinion...too many dead spots in there....still not sure what Zimmer and Yandy are going to give us...we have time but other teams have made major improvements...the central isn't the question the playoffs are

Won’t scare anyone? On paper that’s still a top 3 or 4 offense in the AL. Combine it with our top tier pitching staff? Still in a good spot and I HIGHLY doubt the Indians go all offseason without making some moves.

Indians asked for Happ and Baez for Salazar and Allen. Cubs said no.
Wonder why Kipnis wouldn’t be thrown in on that deal. Bringing back Baez and Happ really defeats the purpose of him.

Losing Joe Smith sucks, thought he was the most likely of our "big 4" free agents to re-sign. Steep price to match/beat though.

With that said, the Indians have done a terrific job turning other team's scraps or garbage into very solid production: Otero, Goody, Olson in the last 2 years.

A lot of that credit admittedly probably goes to Callaway, but still very confident with our bullpen quality.

Teams like to raid our lower levels it seems! We have an open roster spot so that means they plan on filling it via a trade/free agency. I use the Rule 5 all the time in the console games lol

We lost an OF in the AAA Rule 5 but grabbed a LHP from the Nationals. We also lost an INF as well. I'm waiting for all the updates so I can say them in here correctly.

Any other rumors heating up at winter meetings. I really like the idea of Baez, although I'm not sure J Ram would be happy to move back to 3rd. Can't look at Twitter, work has blocked it :(

Actually Baez has 400+ innings at 3B and has from a quick glance solid defensive numbers there. I haven’t looked at the in-depth numbers, but if we do pick up Baez he could play 3rd base instead of 2nd which.

Now that makes a guy like Diaz homeless on the field as well, but he could be moved maybe to first...?

Are people forgetting that Danny Salazar was effectively benched at the end of the season? If they can get Baez they need to do it. Call the Cubs bluff, make them pay up. I would like pitching in return but you take what you can get and go from.there.
