2017-18 Cleveland Indians Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How could someone disagree that the AL is going to be as tough as ever? So silly...

The AL Central will be a laughingstock other than the Tribe and Twins, but the Astros and Yankees are going to flat out bloody teams next season while the Red Sox and Angels will be in the hunt as well. The fact that the Tribe lost to the Yankees this postseason well before they were expected to really take off remains particularly tough to swallow.

Bullpen depth shrinking by the minute.

Crockett, Armstrong, and Logan weren’t high-quality guys last year, but they were nice to have just in case.

Losing Shaw and Smith is going to hurt.

It boggles my mind that it appears that the Tribe is essentially going to force Kipnis out of here. Other than last season, he's been one of the better players on this team over the past several years while only turning 31 this season. I get that they're steadfast on keeping Ramirez at 2B, but Kip can end up being a solid corner outfielder while also batting second in the lineup. No reason to sell low on him.

This is a pretty tough situation for the Tribe management. Watching two playoff teams that played in the ALCS and one being a WS champion getting better. However, I feel confident in the front office now more than prior years that they can put things in motion and make good decisions.

Indians do not need to sign anyone. My guess is they sign a bullpen arm and wait to see if they can get a LoMo or Adams on a cheap deal.

SS Lindor
LF Kipnis
2nd Jose
DH Edwin
1st Brantley
CF Zimmer
3rd Yandy
RF Lonnie
C Perez

Bench; Gomes, Guyer, Jackson, and FA

SP: Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Salazar, Tomlin
Bullpen: Allen, Miller, Otero, Goody, Olson, Clevinger, FA

Best team in the central by far and if Kluber and Carrasco are healthy, they can beat any team.
They should bring back Jackson. He should have already been re-signed for 4th OFer.

I feel the same way. Maybe there is info we don't know or they have a team that is interested and his name just keeps coming up.

Well, we don't know what any deal for Kip will look like so we can't say whether or not the Indians are selling low. I don't see it being a strict salary dump maneuver but more of a "restructuring" move.

For me personally, I'd like to get another young high upside bat to go along with Lindor, Ramirez, Zimmer and Mejia as our young core.

Indians asked for Happ and Baez for Salazar and Allen. Cubs said no.
