Don't think they will be in a deep rebuild, but they will for sure be trying to rebuild for a year or two after this upcoming season I believe.

They just aren't a market team that can retain their top guys and add ones either. Sucks. This is one of the reasons why I hate how baseball is with their salary cap and it not being there.

But, this team still has a good staff and one of the better bullpens in the league still. Would be massive if they made some sort of splash like they did last off-season and acquired Edwin.

Clearly do not expect one this time around, but I guess you never know at the end of the day.. These guys have surprised us before.

Hate seeing the Yankees buy their way into a playoff berth, and maybe even the world series with their unlimited cash flow.

Yankees actually didn't buy this round of wins, since most of the team was drafted or acquired via trade. They made the team properly this time and now they are going to be a pain to beat in 19 and beyond. They still have some holes that they haven't filled in yet.
 
We signed Encarnacion 1 year ago. Seems like one of the last big players to sign last year, but I may be remembering incorrectly. But there are a TON still left this year:

JD Martinez
Hosmer
Cain
Moustakas
Darvish
Arrieta
Lynn
Wade Davis

And then a bunch of guys in the next tier: Bruce, Frazier, Morrison, Reed, Gomez, Cargo, Lucroy, Neil Walker, Nunez, etc. etc.

Still a lot of big fish on the market.
 
All the more reason to platoon him at 1B to keep the club's flexibility.

Yet, it was good to see them do it with EC. Just trying to see what former stand out players coming off injuries we are going to tender an offer to. Any come to mind right now?

Think we already knew that for the most part. Still holding out hope some "midlevel" guys fall through the cracks and then maybe the Tribe can get someone on a reasonable 1 year deal.

Think they'll sign a reliever and be done. Maybe a RH OF bat too, but I think it's probably unlikely.

We can pretend its not "too shabby", but at the end of the day we lost 4 solid pieces and only replaced possibly 1. While our biggest threats are improving.
