Koby Altman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love his swagger and confidence. This man knows he just pulled off a heist because I'm still trying to figure out how he did it. The only thing that had value was our pick and Frye. The rest were literally trash or had their best years way behind them. Yeah If all goes well and we contend, Cleveland will certainly be favored over the field for LeBron's services. Not to mention the possibly high value the Brooklyn pick might yield (young stud or flipped for a star)

Would be hilarious Koby won executive of the year over Ainge. Get a center in FA after buy outs and Koby can simply just scouts prospects the rest of the year b/c it will be on Lue and LeBron.

We couldn't move Frye and Shump last offseason. IT and Crowder along with the 2nd pick provided us assets to make these trades work.

Was funny when he got sick of the interview during the game and was like “I’d actually like to go watch the guys play?”

Altman essentially Lue Proofed the roster. Frye and Crowder had to go because Lue wouldn't use them properly.

now the roster is set for positionless basketball.

I was huge fan of David Griffin, what he did to build a championship roster. Koby Altman filled the role perfectly.

You can’t use Crowder properly when essentially his proper role is as SF on both sides of the ball. And he merits more minutes per game then just 8-12 per game at SF when LeBron was on the bench.

Frye should have played more I agree but even then, the more he plays, his limitations, especially on defense show.

So they had to go to upgrade first and foremost

I know many people were mad about the IT trade at first, as far as the assets went. Well, IT was essentially negative value so we got rid of IT and a player that didn't play (love Channing but it's true and I'm glad we got value for his expiring). So it was essentially a late 1st rounder, who probably wouldn't crack our rotation anyway, for freaking Clarkson and Nance.

Now that is an insanely good deal. And if the late 1st was a maker or breaker of the deal, I'm sure glad we didn't get stingy. Shoot, Nance alone is worth a late 1st and I'd probably take him over DJ based on the circumstances. Yet we got Clarkson, Hill, and Hood too? Still can't believe how incredible we made out this deadline considering what we got and got rid of.

I'm a little curious to know what the 2nd best trade on the table for IT was. I have a feeling it was nowhere even close to what we got. And getting rid of IT became like the most critical objective of the deadline. And Koby managed to actually turn it into something amazing.

2 2 way players that are 25 for a 1st round pick and more importantly, without giving up our solid Rookie is really a mindblower. Lakers look like fools to me. If Lebron signs there i will gladly eat crow, but I think they mortgaged the future for some poor quality stars.

Magic Johnson is a super fool. Anyone remember his coaching stint? or his late-night talk show? I mean, I love what he did for acceptance of HIV and everything he ever did on the court as a player, but...... as Earvin Johnson, he's not shown he can succeed. He's a good ambassador and should have gone into politics. He could have been mayor of LA.

That said, Koby is going to win NBA executive of the year.

ps. Congrats, Dan.

The Lakers deal is a win-win in my book. They wanted to move Clarkson because they want to be big time players in free agency, they get the pick, and Walton is very tight with Channing Frye. Frye was part of the Lute Olsen mini dynasty. He can yank the locker room back under Luke's control. Isaiah might bounce back a little offensively, but he never made sense in Cleveland because his defense is just too limited.

I really liked his answer on NBA.TV about helping the Lakers clear space when he knows there going to court LeBron. Basically said, with or without the Cavs deal, the Lakers were going to clear cap regardless. He took advantage of it.

Previously when one voiced displeasure about previous roster moves, the response 'what other trades could the front office have made?' is often the go-to defense.

The under-the-radar moves this young man made is an illustration of why that defence is a lazy one. There are always trade opportunities around the league that the average forumer isn't aware of. Good front office executives are always on top of these opportunities.

Regardless the ability to salvage the scraps we got from that Kyrie trade is worthy of applause. Especially when you consider our 2nd best offer was Middleton, Brogdon, Bucks FRP. We got fleeced and still ended up better off.

Altman has done a great job. I did a drag and click on a post from the Dallas Mavericks board.

The way CLE was able to pretty much LOAD UP with young and freshly motivated talent at the TDL without giving up anything (except disgruntled vets that wanted out) was so ridiculous it could almost make me a conspiracy theorist.

Hmm, just how much power does King James hold over the NBA?
