Can I ask why everyone is so impressed with Mo Bamba and Jaren Jackson. Y’all hype gods.

Ummmm, have u watched jackson?

First of all the 3 talents that translate most from college to pros are shooting, shot blocking and ft %. He is a super athletic, legit center who blocks a ton of shots, shoots 80% ft and 44% from 3.

This dude is the prototypical modern nba center. Think of how hyped nerlens noel was. This kid is as talented defensively, bigger AND he can shoot.

This kid is still growing. Could be prim Tyson Chandler w a much more developed offensive game.

That’s cool so we’re gonna build our team around him in the future? No team in this NBA era will win a championship with a big man as their centerpiece. Minny won’t win with KAT being the best player (I think Butler is better anyways). Philly won’t win with Embiid as their main Cog. I’d rather take Bagley/Michael Porter Jr, Doncic, Young.

I mean it’s personal opinion just don’t think those 2 guys stand out like those 4.

Duncan, Dirk, Shaq, and the Wallace’s weren’t this era?

There is no set blueprint for building a championship team. Never in a million years could you have convinced me 8 years ago that building around Steph Curry would lead to historic results.

Take the best player, go from there. Should always be the mindset.

Also, maybe I missed it...but LeBron’s leaving?

No Duncan, Dirk, Shaq, and the Wallace’s weren’t this era. This is a new era.

Plus Duncan had one of the best coaches of all time who is still winning with a team full of no bodies.

Dirk was unstoppable that year, I ain’t got nothing to say about him but he’s a stretch forward.

Shaq had Kobe and prime free throw D Wade.

The Wallace’s was a once in a lifetime where a team wins with no superstars and a starting rookie small forward.

And I don’t expect this pick to be made to suit LeBrons needs. If we were gonna choose based on LeBrons needs we should trade the pick for a proven star.

Completely whiffed on the point. Your mindset is way, way off too.

If we keep the pick and the player, he is not being built around, especially right away. He’ll be developing with LeBron. You’re acting like they’d be given the keys to the franchise right away...wouldn’t be until their 2nd contract that that happens.

You’re telling me KAT couldn’t win with LeBron? Or Embiid with LeBron? Or Davis with LeBron? I call BS on that.

Also, glad you know how all these early 20s bigs careers pan out already...

Passing on the BPA because he’s a big because supposedly you can’t win titles with them as a centerpiece is ridiculous.

Jaren Jackson Jr is the epitome of a stretch big. But the great thing is that he is a two way player, interchangeable at the 4/5 spot and can potentially guard 1-5.

I looked at this stats and the dude projects similarly to Anthony Davis.. Jackson is a better defender, but a slightly worse all-around offensive player, but he has that 3pt range and ability that Davis didn't have coming out of college.

What the Cavs need to hope right now is that Young gets back on track, Bagley is put on notice again and other players jump in front of him. I have seen from Jackson all I needed to see.

He is a very unique talent.

Funny that you talk down the prospect of building around a big man, but then advocate taking Bagley, whose best position in the NBA might be Center.

Seems like you've done very little research on the draft, and are exactly what you came in here to denounce, a "hype god"

Every contending team has at least two key players -- Embiid is certainly capable of being one of them for Philly.

Otherwise, it's worth noting that truly talented big men are pretty rare -- much easier to find a good point guard than a good modern-day center. If you can get one, all sorts of other things open up in terms of finding that second big piece. And best of all, the lack of good big men means you have a huge mismatch if you actually have one. Steven Adams is not a great player, but he gives GSW fits because they aren't built to stop him.

A guy like Jaren Jackson who is a defensive stopper and rim protector at the five, who can also go out to the perimeter, is extraordinarily valuable in today's NBA. If he has the ability to space the floor as well, he becomes a matchup nightmare for the rest of the league.

Heck, when Mozgov was here and relatively healthy with LBJ, it opened up a whole bunch of other offense for us. Defenses that collapsed on LBJ as he drove couldn't afford to leave Moz near the basket or it would be a lob/interior pass and dunk.

If we had a guy like Jackson on this team right now, we'd likely be the favorites.

I think bagley, ayton and young are the riskiest top picks

I would also add Porter Jr. There are a lot of risky picks in this draft, but there is also ridiculous upside in a lot of picks. I think Ayton is really franchise dependant, meaning the his bust odds increase/decrease relative to which team drafts him... depends on their structure, coaching, mentorship, roster, etc.

Porter jr only because of injury ....I think he has nba skills, I don’t worry about his game

Ayton, young, bagley I worry about their games translating to the nba.

Ayton, young, bagley I worry about their games translating to the nba.

Even if you think his game translates, that injury automatically makes him a risky pick.

I worry about Ayton's mental makeup and the fact that he might be uncoachable on some teams, and he definitely needs coaching despite him probably thinking that he is already superstar bound and has no flaws. He has glaring flaws.

Anyways, still long ways to go on the season.
