"You don't know until you test it, but I think, I really believe I'd run in there, even if I didn't have a weapon, and I think most of the people in this room would have done that too," Trump told a gathering of US governors at the White House.
Can you please give an opinion on how this is a negative statement?I guess we just need to get our President near the next mass shooting...
This is such a Trump thing to say lol.I guess we just need to get our President near the next mass shooting...
They have no idea what "taking real lives means"
So are you a police officer? If not you wouldn't know their protocol ...So, the cops at our training stressed "get the kids out of the building" and "give info on how many shooters, what types of weapons, and locations" as our main jobs. I 100% remember him saying what the exact police protocol is. And since it'll be chaotic for us in the building, it isn't like we need to know what the police are doing (although, they did stress DO NOT pick up the assailants weapons).
I do remember some sort of discussion where if a lone officer shows up, they won't just charge in. At the very least they'll wait for backup. Now, since police protocol wasn't the focal point of the training, I can't say I remember a lot of it. Is it possible Ohio police are trained not to go in solo?

They really should stop interviewing this kid. It just gets worse and worse. First, he said it wasn't the deputies fault because "who wants to stare down an AR15?", and now it's "it's the governor's fault that the deputies stayed outside of the school."

Depends on your life experiences... many of these kids have never killed an animal , observed the process of something living and breathing ..bleeding and dying, ..possibly have never even fired a weapon... my opinion is kids that were raised around firearms and use firearms in daily living whether it's hunting or competition shooting ranges etc. have a lot more respect for a firearm and a lot more respect for human life...No one knows what "taking real lives means" unless they've actually done it.

We agree to disagree... kids do not differentiate between shooting someone 15 times with an AR in a video game... call of duty type... and shooting someone in real life with a real AR blasting a 55 gr bullet out at 3000 feet per sec..., in their minds you just hit the reset button and everybody stands back up
I suppose there are some kids who fit that, but you made a pretty over the top generalization about kids who play videogames. Again, if that was really true, we should have tens of millions of shootings every single day.
You just basically described a mentally unstable individual though. That person doesn't need a video game to set him over the top, nor a movie or TV show - if he's that MESSED UP, he already had it in his mind to do it.Where in the hell did I say ALL kids?? .. I feel it's a very small percentage...and not all. video games , talking about the super VIOLENT ones. definitely believe there are some It effects
Obviously it's not all kids . you have to have a kid who has a grudge , has access to a weapon, has the balls to use it, the means to put it all together.... and is MESSED UP enough to actually go thru with it.. seems clear the kids who are "outcasts" are much more likely to engage in this
No. The kid being a hypocrite there is just one example. He shouldn't be interviewed because he's a 17 year old kid who has a very limited understanding of the complex issues he's being paraded around to discuss. He uses his status as a kid and a victim to deflect any criticism of his ludicrous commentary. Good for the students for becoming politically active, and I truly mean that, but you can't take off the political activist hat and throw on the "I'm just a kid" hat real quick whenever you get criticized.Quick question, do you also believe that we should stop interviewing the president? If a shift in message or accused hypocrisy is our litmus test, we should probably just cancel cable news altogether... (actually, not a bad idea)
