2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
teams probably fear Mccaffery as a receiver more than Funchess though. They need a receiver. It will be something to keep an eye on either way.

I doubt that. Funchess is 6'4" with great burst and a very good size/speed score. There's a reason why Carolina shipped off Benjamin, and it's because they want to hand the reins to Funchess.

For those who like to play around with the cap, in terms of how much we have left, how deals are structured and how much unused cap we may rollover to 2019, Spotrac is now updated to include all the traded players and all the FA's we've signed to date:

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/cap/

If we don't add a single other player beyond are current draft slots, we'll end up with about 53M in rollover(that already factors in the cap hold estimates for our draft slots). The 2019 League Cap number is estimated to be between 187-190M. So the Browns Adjusted Cap number would be around 240M.

We currently have about 145M committed in salary next year(including the projected 2019 cap numbers of this years draft class and minus Jamar Taylor who I would be shocked if he was still on the team in 2019)

So that would give us roughly 95M in cap space next year. Some players have deals that can be gotten out of easily next year with tons of cap space and very little dead money created if necessary(Collins, Bitonio, Tretter)

But hopefully those guys all play well and stay healthy though and our cap space next year is $95M

Now keep in mind we'll take a big chunk of that space for possible large new deals for Landry, Duke Johnson, a backup QB if T Taylor moves on, or early extensions for Ogbah/Josh Gordon.

But even if all of those guys land big deals from us, we'll still be in great position to try a different approach in FA next year than this year, targeting 1-2 top20 FA signings instead of the "building out the middle of the roster" approach of this year.

Indy pick is worth 2200.

6th pick 1600
37th pick 530
49th pick 490
f 2nd rou 400

Total 3020

Wow, massive haul. This was inevitable whether it happened today or draft day.

It was always QB at 1. Thank God this will finally put the Saquon at 1 talks to bed.

I’d have taken that deal from the Jets, I’d have done it for less, honestly.
