Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What was said that was untrue?

You realize if the Browns take Allen I will get behind him and be a fan, right?

I would hope so. I personally think Cleveland fans are some of the best out there. You guys are a lot like Wyoming fans. Not a lot of winning. Allen has gotten us back to respectability. So I try and stick up for him. And you have to admit you guys come after him hard. It is a no win situation.

You treat me fairly, I treat you fairly. Easy enough.

Bullshit. Point out the post in which I was unfair or rude to you before this:

Try improving your comprehension skills. I certainly got more out of it than you are claiming. Not my fault you can't follow football terms.

Let’s just flip that and say one example of Trent Richardson not overcoming similar issues, but really not all that similar of a skill set isn’t a causal either.

2 way street here.

Barkley is a stud.

No. It's not the same. Other players with those red-flags regularly don't overcome those issues. Trent Richardson reaffirms the "rule". If Barkley overcomes those three issues I've identified, he'll be a bit of an exception there.

So much bickering on the forums lately. Takes away from the otherwise awesome quality of the site. I do not want Josh Allen but like Chris, I will jump right behind the guy and pray for the best if we select him. That said, I'll also be rooting for our front office to be fired. :)

Frankly, at the #1 pick, we should come down hard on all of these guys. I think that's the point of contention. Why settle for a guy with so many glaring issues with the #1 pick?? You say it's because at his peak, he can the one of the greats. The rest of us are concerned about him ever getting to his peak and think that a risk/reward pick like that is a bit too volatile for the Browns right now.

And that is your opinion and entitled to it. I don't have a problem with it. I am just trying to put out my opinion and tools to disagree. It is a sports site, not everyone will agree.

Haha, I will be pissed for a minute, no doubt. But I always talk myself into whoever we select, or try to, and I'll get behind Allen. Who knows, maybe he'd prove us wrong. I wouldn't root for anyone to be fired until he proved himself to suck.

You don't need to have the best QB in the league to win a championship. Having a top 5-10 guy will do just fine. Maybe Allen has the best chance to be the best QB in the league, but he also has a greater chance to fall out of that top 5-10. The potential reward simply isn't worth the additional risk.

I understand he is not a good fit. But he is not as bad as you all say or he wouldn't be in the discussion from so many "experts" if there wasn't something there. So a few guys on a message board keep chanting "he only has a big arm and that is it". That gets old and stupid. Obviously he has more good traits than that. But the board trolls have owned this board for so long that anyone who disagrees will be ganged up on and if he defends himself they will resort to calling him a troll. The usual bully/gang thinking. It doesn't bother me when I know I am in the right. Of course the gang mentality will persist, it has always worked in the past.

Did you ever respond to Q Tip? You owe him an apology before you can claim to be "in the right" or whatever.

I agree. I am not saying he has to be the best. I am saying he has more talent than a lot of people are willing to give him credit for. Just because you give Allen some credit does not mean he should get drafted by the Browns. If I was the Browns I would go with Darnold.

To me I think Mayfield is the toughest QB to evaluate of the 4. I could really see him being a top 10 QB, but I could also just as easily see him flaming out.

It's just so hard to evaluate him when you consider his offensive line and offensive coordinator would make any of the other top QBs blush and his conference is known for no defensive play at all. I think he involves the most projecting
