2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
would you be cool with it if I made something up to support my claim?

You know.... you actually make me laugh consistently when you say shit like this and I don’t even think you mean to.

We don’t know how consistent Barkley is as a runner because his o line sucked ass and piss.

But if he’s a 1600 total yards back and can break it open any play I’d say that’s elite. I’ll take that on my team.

Yeah, never his fault.

Becoming a theme of the draft season.

The threat to break it open is great, but he'll never get the chance without consistent runs.

Pretending he's a bell cow will be a mistake some team makes early.

Plz sign petition by quoting this post:

Barkley is not an elite RB.

Make sure you don't put a figure on it. Then you can argue about what constitutes elite/not elite later.

Because the eye test will be all that matters anyway, as we've learned.

When we start hearing about how bad Big Ten offensive lines are...

And I don't think you know what the word hyperbole means... or literally for that matter. But that stuff aside, I think Barkley's going to be a good player, but not good enough to be taken in the top 5. So add me to your list I guess.

Which is it, is Barkley good or bad. Is he an elite RB or not? Because if he’s a 1,000 yard rusher he’s likely a 1,600 all purpose yardage player.

You can average less than 70 yards per game and be a 1000 yd. rusher. If that's all you're getting on the ground from your feature back, he's probably not worth a first-rounder at all. Much less No. 4 overall.

And no, gaining another 40 yards per game through the air doesn't change that. Plenty of other guys can do that.

If I'm taking an RB at No. 4 overall, he better be putting up Zeke Elliot rookie numbers at a minimum -- 1600 yds, 5.0 PC.

It took me literally less than a minute to find his 2017 game logs. How he could be that wrong is baffling.

If we've learned anything from the political world, it's not about facts it's about what you feel is correct.

But he was also going against Big Ten defensive lines which are also stacked.

I do like Barkley, but to take a RB 4 overall he must be elite in todays NFL. I dont think Barkley is the 2nd coming of Barry and thats what it would take for me to draft a rb that high.

For me, it comes out as a wash most of the time.. Penn State's line is Big Ten quality, as are the defensive lines he's going against. Josh Allen's offensive line was bad, as were several Mountain West defensive lines. Using the line or supporting cast is never a very strong argument. Unless something is glaring, look at the player for qualities validating his status, rather than at the people around him to marginalize the issues.

I'd definitely take Barry Allen at #4 overall. He sucks going through the line, but once he gets outside......he gone
