2018 NBA Playoffs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we get swept So be it. Making four straight finals and winning one is a great run. And in normal nba eras we would have won two to 3 of these. Hold your head up man. Nothing to be ashamed of!
Oh so it’s okay to essentially make the finals for almost half a decade (“a great run”) but then essentially complain about the next half decade be setup for another team ?? Ok cool !!

What about those other teams in the east who wanted a chance to compete for a title ?? Just checking the tempature on those eastern conference season ticket holding fan bases in other cities but Cleveland and Miami ?

I watch this Warriors team and I always come back to the same thought... teams have to go retro to beat them. The entire league has been on some maddening quest to go small and go with pace and spread the floor with shooters. Well, the Warriors have perfected that method of play. What kind of lunatic GM tries to beat the best perimeter-based shooting team of all time at their own game? For some reason, the answer seems to be every goddam GM in the league. It’s insane.

You have to muscle these guys up, limit possessions, and have multiple guys who can create their own shot. It’s why I would have gone all in on a guy like Cousins for the last couple years. LeBron, Kyrie, Cousins, two guard with length, and forward with length/mobility would be ideal. Beast on them down low, and make them adjust to you. If they are running circles around you on the other end, then so what... they do it to smaller teams anyway. Beat them up on the interior and they will slow down over a series. Knock KD and Steph around and wear them out. It’s too late for the Cavs, I’m afraid. Just baffled that no other team even tries this approach against them.

Even without Durant they are probably the best team in the league, but at least there would be some debate and a little doubt. Pundits spend the season trying to convince us that beating them is possible, that Houston were on their level, not even close, unless injuries hit them hard there is very little chance.

Weakest individual move in the history of the league, I don't see people forgetting it if they continue to rub it in over the next few years.

Maybe because it doesn't work... Memphis came the closest, and they failed.

What? Our point is that knowing the result ahead of time of Golden state winning without any resistance for years is no fun as a fan of competitive basketball.

what? I think you have missed the boat. Many of us don’t find a team winning year after year with little to no resistance due to having four max players year after year as compelling basketball to watch. If you do knock yourself out, but that is not how many of us feel.

It's up to the rest of the league.

Either they form their own superteams or they will lose to the Warriors for the next five years.

One of them was Durant's own mouth.

Ha, true.

I really wish, when KD said to him they were even, LeBron would have said "uh, no."

But that's the fan in me talking.

Didnt like watching the Spurs with 3 stars for years...

Couldn’t stand watching the Bulls dominate with no resistance..

Fans in the east don’t like LeBron and wish he would retire... You don’t think Toronto and Indiana (both from Miami and Cleveland days wish he would go away?)

It happens and has happened...

You just can’t have it both ways... And in the Warriors case they’re dominant and they enjoy it and they will sacrifice for it.. Roles, financially etc.. Other teams and players just can’t do it or refuse... LBJ included, Kyrie included..

Even during LeBron's run through the East other teams have had hope. Indiana took the Heat 6 games, then 7 games the next year, then 6 games again. Boston took the Heat 7 games. Chicago took the Cavs 6 games. Toronto took the Cavs 6 games. Indiana just took the Cavs to 7. His teams had their share of dog fights. And then whatever team made it out of the West was waiting for them. There was never this sense that no one in the NBA could beat his team. It's not like that with Golden State. They just completely run through other teams.

You're going to have to post some links because I do not remember that happening.

It will come eventually. If we live in an era where people still hold the 2007 Finals against Lebron and elevate Curry past Detroit Pistons Isiah Thomas as an all-time point guard when Curry only had one ring at the time, any hot take is possible.

It's simple. True Shooting percentage and the rules favor that style of play. You'd need a Shaq-esqe dominante player, dominate the offensive glass by a huge margin and rarely turn the ball over. The PPS of the 3 has changed the game. They're unreal at the 3 and do it well in ways that were inefficient. Lastly, it's not the same NBA as previous generations. There's no hand-checking or contact allowed. Otherwise, going big and physical would probably work. However, the NBA has taken that style out of the game forever.
